Two faculty members from the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) earned top paper awards during the Partido State University Research Agency In-House Review held via Zoom on September 23, 2026.

Mr. Aldrin B. Rodriguez received the 1st Best Paper Award for โ€œDynamics of Political Relationships in Camarines Sur: The May 2025 Philippine Elections,โ€ under the History and Culture category. Mr. Lito A. Begonia earned the 2nd Best Paper Award for โ€œ(Mis)Representation of Agta-Tabangnon Identity: The Role of the Local Government Units in the Province of Camarines Sur, Philippines,โ€ also under History and Culture.

Also representing CAH in the review were Mr. Leemar C. Serrano, presenter of โ€œPALFISH-ING: Experiences of Bicolano Online Tutors Teaching Chinese Kids with Englishโ€ under Education, and Prof. Charlie V. Balagtas, author of โ€œGeneration of Chaos and Generation of Peaceโ€ under History and Culture.

The Agency In-House Review provides an avenue for evaluating research quality, strengthening scholarly work, and recognizing studies that contribute to the universityโ€™s research agenda and development priorities.

"Your present circumstances do not determine your final destination."

These were the words of Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo, SUC President III, during the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) OrSem 2026 held last August 19, themed โ€œRecalibrating minds, igniting purpose, and shaping tomorrow through arts, humanities, and public service.โ€

He spoke to students about the reality of difficult days, of walking through poverty and rejection, and the choice to take one more step instead of letting temporary hardships make a permanent decision about the future.

His message rested on the power of perseverance and purpose. An education in the arts and humanities, he reminded them, is about understanding people, serving society, and using knowledge and integrity to shape the stories of our communities and our country.
