The Center for Food Safety Research and Extension (CFSRE), in collaboration with the ParSU-Microbiology Testing Laboratory (ParSU-MTL) and the In-Vivo Assay Laboratory, successfully conducted their preliminary review of scientific findings. The research investigated waterborne pathogen contamination and cave-derived organic products for agricultural utilization across two municipalities in the Bicol region, aiming to develop sustainable solutions for local communities.

🌊🐟 GROWING A BETTER FUTURE FOR LOCAL AQUACULTURE! 🌱🛡️

Introducing the AGRI-FISH PROGRAM by Center for Food Safety Research and Extension
"SAFE FOOD, SMART PRACTICES, STRONG COMMUNITIES."

This initiative aims to transform local aquaculture and agriculture by institutionalizing food safety governance, optimizing value chains through localized aquafeed innovation (turning agro-waste into quality fish pellets!), and empowering smallholder farmers with economic decision tools.

📍 Trainings and workshops will be conducted at the ParSU Mabalodbalod Campus, where technologies and practical approaches will be shared with local farmers, fisherfolk, and other stakeholders.

🌱 CROP-BOOST PROJECT 🌱
Microbially Enriched Biofertilizers for Sustainable Agriculture

We are pleased to introduce the CROP-BOOST Project, an initiative exploring the potential of beneficial microorganisms from Adiangao Cave for the development of microbially enriched biofertilizers for sustainable agriculture.

🔬 Preliminary testing will be conducted at the ParSU-Mabalodbalod Campus this October, where the project team will begin evaluating the potential of these locally sourced microorganisms under agricultural conditions.

Initial laboratory screening and preliminary work have been conducted at the In Vivo Assay Laboratory and Microbiology Testing Laboratory in ParSU-Goa. These laboratory activities provide the basis for the succeeding preliminary testing at PSU-Mabalodbalod, bringing the research closer to actual crop production conditions.

Through CROP BOOST, we aim to explore locally sourced microbial resources and their potential application in sustainable crop production, while supporting research and innovation in agriculture within the Partido community. 🌱
