Reinforcing Good Governance: Tourism Student Society Attends Leadership Seminar

To reinforce the principles of good governance and effective leadership, the Tourism Student Society participated in a leadership seminar themed, "Serving with Purpose: Empowering Student Leaders for Transformative and Visionary Leadership." The event took place at Teatro Makandog at 09:00 AM on April 1, 2026.

Sir Ceasar Tristan G. Gayton, Dean of Alumni and Student Affairs, discussed the critical nature of financial management within student organizations. He emphasized that proper handling of funds is essential for delivering quality projects, noting that transparency is the foundation of the trust members place in their leaders.

Following this, current SSC President Shiloh Isha Duran, alongside former SSC President Gene Daniel Acosta, shared insights on the essence of true leadership. They stressed that leadership begins with the self. One cannot lead others without first mastering self-leadership. They concluded that leadership is a conscious choice, requiring a balance of hindsight, insight, and foresight to make informed and impactful decisions.

Attending this seminar has significantly sharpened our perspectives on leadership. It has equipped us to uphold the standards of good governance and inspired us to push beyond our limits in service to the student body.

LOOK: TSS TURNOVER CEREMONY ✨

On February 27, 2026, the Tourism Student Society successfully conducted its Turnover Ceremony for the outgoing and incoming officers.

The ceremony formally acknowledged and celebrated the dedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions of the former TSS OFFICERS, marking a meaningful milestone and the continued growth of the organization. More than just a formal event, it highlighted leadership, camaraderie, unity, and genuine love for our fellow Tourism students.

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day with love and appreciation, the Tourism Student Society would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited and supported our booth💐✨. From our TSS members to students from different colleges, your presence truly made the event special.🤗

We are especially grateful to all the students who took time out of their busy schedules to stop by, participate, and share smiles with us😁. Your positive energy, excitement, and encouragement inspired us to do our best. Seeing you enjoy the activities and celebrate love and friendship made all our efforts worthwhile.💕

The weather was unpredictable and, honestly, it was one of the biggest challenges we faced in pushing through with the booth. Fortunately , by God’s grace, we were blessed with good weather, allowing everyone to celebrate Valentine’s Day comfortably and joyfully🙏.

A special thanks to Ashly Romblon for her captivating performance and for representing our department at this special event. Her talent truly touched our hearts🌷.
