WVSU-Himamaylan City Campus Hosts "Vote with Purpose" BSKE 2026 Youth Empowerment Forum
The West Visayas State University (WVSU) Himamaylan City Campus brought together students, officials, and partner organizations for the "Vote with Purpose" BSKE 2026 Youth Empowerment Forum on 14 March, 2026, at the campus gymnasium. The event aimed to empower young people with knowledge on the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) process, while promoting informed and purposeful voting.
Hundreds of participants, including WVSU students from various programs, ROTC cadets, LTS and CWTS volunteers, gathered to engage in discussions on electoral duties, good governance, and youth participation in local leadership. The forum provided a platform for open dialogue between the youth and key stakeholders in the electoral process.
The WVSU Himamaylan City Campus extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. CJ L. Lazo, WVSU-HCC NSTP Coordinator, for spearheading the organization of this impactful youth empowerment initiative and ensuring its smooth implementation.
Distinguished speakers and panelists from partner agencies shared valuable insights with the participants. Atty. Keith L. Horario, Election Officer IV, discussed electoral guidelines and processes; Ms. RG Mae Garcia, DILG Officer, talked about local governance and youth roles; and Dr. Anra M. Rosaldes, WVSU GAD Coordinator, emphasized inclusive participation and gender responsiveness in elections. During the open forum, representatives from COMELEC, PNP, SK Federation, DILG, WVSU, and CWDO were on hand to address questions from the audience.

Overall, the "Vote with Purpose" BSKE 2026 Youth Empowerment Forum highlighted WVSU Himamaylan City Campusโ commitment to nurturing an informed, responsible, and engaged youth sector, equipping them to play active roles in shaping their communities through meaningful participation in the electoral process.
