Southern Leyte State University has received reports of fraudulent emails and messages impersonating University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte—including the unauthorized use of his photo—to request urgent payments and financial transactions.
The University clarifies that Dr. Jude A. Duarte and the SLSU Administration do not request fund transfers, payments, or any financial assistance through email, messaging applications, social media platforms, or phone calls.
Any request involving payments or financial transactions that does not follow official University procedures and authorized channels should be treated with extreme caution. Members of the University community are advised to verify such requests directly with the concerned office before taking any action.
If you receive messages from [email protected] or any other suspicious account claiming to represent the University President, do not respond, do not send money, and report the incident immediately to [email protected].
Please remain vigilant against impersonation and social engineering scams, particularly those that create a false sense of urgency to pressure recipients into making immediate payments.

𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 | In line with the conclusion of the 22nd Charter Day Celebration, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) will implement a Wellness Break for all employees to allow time for rest following the demands of the celebration activities.

In this regard, there will be no work and classes on March 9–10 (Monday and Tuesday), across all SLSU campuses.

Furthermore, limited transactions will be observed at the Sogod Campus on March 11 (Wednesday), as employees who are required to participate in official university activities during the first two days shall avail of their wellness break on that date.

Regular operations and classes will resume on March 12, Thursday.
