President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) has significantly advanced its global standing after ranking within the Rank 209 of the Global Top 500 Innovative Universities in the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), a marked improvement from its Rank 270 placement in 2025.

The announcement was made during the 6th HLU Annual Conference and WURI Global Rankings Ceremony held at National Chi Nan University, Taiwan, gathering leading universities worldwide to recognize excellence in innovation-driven education and research, May 7, 2026.

PRMSU’s upward trajectory reflects its strengthened commitment to transformative education, impactful research, and global competitiveness anchored in innovation and sustainability.

The University ranked 6th in Central Luzon, ranked 36th among SUCs in the Philippines, and ranked 63rd in the entire country in the WURI 2026.

The University delivered an exceptional performance across multiple categories earning Top 100 global rankings in 17 out of 24 innovation areas, as follows:

KONTRA DROGA, PRMSU UMARANGKADA! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Matagumpay na naisakatuparan ng President Ramon Magsaysay State University ang PRMSU on the Move Year 2: Takbo at Padyak Kontra Ilegal na Droga bilang panimula sa pagdiriwang ng ika-116 na Founding Anniversary at ika-8 Charter Anniversary ng unibersidad noong Abril 20.

Pinangunahan ni University President Dr. Roy N. Villalobos ang nasabing gawain, kung saan kanyang binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pag-iwas sa ilegal na droga at ang pagpapanatili ng isang malusog at aktibong pamumuhay.

Dinaluhan ito ng libo-libong mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani—patunay ng nagkakaisang adhikain ng komunidad ng PRMSU para sa isang ligtas, malusog, at drug-free na kinabukasan.

IBA, Zambales – The President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) officially opened its 116th Founding Anniversary and 8th Charter Anniversary with a high-energy “PRMSU On the Move 2: Takbo at Padyak Kontra Droga” that gathered hundreds of participants at the break of dawn, April 20, 2026.

The activity commenced at Magsaysay Circle, where faculty, non-teaching personnel, and students energized the morning through a lively Zumba warm-up led by Coach Oliver, setting the tone for a day of unity, wellness, and advocacy.

Participants took part in 3-kilometer and 5-kilometer walk, run, and bike race categories, promoting a strong stand against illegal drugs while encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle across all fitness levels, with routes extending to the Iba airport and back.

The event highlighted PRMSU’s commitment to physical well-being and also reinforced its role in advancing social awareness and community engagement.

“Ang ganitong mga gawain ay sumasalamin sa ating paninindigan na hubugin ang isang komunidad na malusog, disiplinado, at may malasakit sa kapwa at bayan,” said University President Dr. Roy N. Villalobos.

After completing the race, participants returned to the main campus where they were served free porridge and water, courtesy of Congw. Doris “Nanay Bing” Maniquiz, Representative of the 2nd District of Zambales, and Asian Vision, as they prepared for the succeeding Foundation Week activities.

In light of the extreme heat conditions being experienced across the country, particularly in Region III, the proposal submitted by the Office of the Student Regent to temporarily lift the mandatory school uniform policy has been approved. On-the-job trainees Jhumarie Madridejo and Kenny Jay Altman from the College of Business, Accountancy, and Public Administration took part in PRMSU’s campaign against illegal drugs by distributing flyers that raise awareness about the harmful effects of long-term ma*****na use, the truth about va**ng and smoking, and the dangers of drug abuse.

Through simple conversations and sharing information, they help encourage everyone to make healthier and more informed choices for a better, drug-free community.
