𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | 𝐏𝐑𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐂 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – Officials from the President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) attended the workshop for Region 3 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) on the issuance of the Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) conducted by the CHED Regional Office 3 at Hotel Seoul, July 10, 2023.

Said orientation aims to harmonize or reconcile the data on COPCs issued by the Commission and to ensure that CHEDRO3 has complete and updated information on programs with COPCs and those that are yet to be applied for COPCs.

Further, the workshop aims to develop a catch-up plan to increase the number of CoPCs issued per SUC and gather feedback and recommendations on various concerns of SUCs related to CoPC application.

PRMSU university officials who attended the one-day workshop were Dr. Lilian F. Uy, VP for Academic Affairs; Dr. Nemia M. Galang, Director for Instruction; and Dr. Marie Fe D. De Guzman, Dean of PRMSU Graduate School.

Also present were the six campus directors, Dr. Santi A. Magtalas, Iba Campus; Dr. Nestor Z. Rondina, San Marcelino Campus; Dr. Leila L. Ravana, Candelaria Campus; Dr. Myra Liza O. Vizcarra, Masinloc Campus; Dr. Ivy H. Casupanan, Castillejos Campus; and Prof. Lea F. Dollete representing Dr. Rene B. Regaspi, Botolan Campus.

During the meeting, Ms. Lora L. Yusi, the OIC Regional Director, shared the latest statistics on the COPCs given to SUCs and urged the participants to collaborate with CHEDRO3 to ensure that there is a notable increase in the number of COPCs issued to SUCs.

A meeting will be scheduled in three months to follow up and evaluate the progress of SUCs in meeting the set targets.

It can be remembered that PRMSU was recognized by CHED Central Office in May 2022 as one of the only nine recipients of the EDUKALIDAD: Parangal sa Kahusayan Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) Award for having more than 65% of its program offerings with COPC. #
