Engr. Eldred Iguban Scholarship conducted a releasing of grants to its student beneficiaries in Aklan State University - Ibajay led by one of its sponsors, Mrs. Beauticia C. Iguban, on February 25, 2026 at ASU-Ibajay Board Room.

A short program was held with the presence of Campus Director Prof. Jerby J. Paderes, OSAS Chairperson Engr. Johnnee Jess R. Cahilig, Scholarship Coordinator Mr. Edgar M. Prado, and Student Scholar's Society Vice President April Jane S. Cañete.

This grant payout serves as an effort of the University to broaden the opportunities of students to help them with their academic endeavors.

ICYMI: PhilHealth conducted an orientation regarding their Group Enrollment Program (GEP) to the personnel of Aklan State University in Ibajay, Aklan at the ASU-Ibajay Function Hall last February 3, 2026.

After the orientation, PhilHealth opened their services for the ASU personnel for the registration of new applicants and updating of accounts.

Moreover, there was an open forum with the Ibajay District Hospital and Rural Health Unit Representatives.

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗔𝗦𝗨) 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 following the announcement of Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores. The decision was made upon the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) due to the expected heavy rainfall from Tropical Cyclone Basyang.

Members of the Disaster Control Group and the designated skeletal workforce in all campuses—particularly those responsible for safety, security, and emergency response—are required to report on site.

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆, and are strongly advised to observe heightened safety and precautionary measures.

Dear ASUIANs, friends and family,

We're reaching out to ask for your help in supporting Ronald June D. Gelito, a brave young man who is currently battling a serious medical condition due to a vehicular accident met while going home from school last January 30, 2026. He is a Second Year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student in Aklan State University- Ibajay Campus. Ronald's family is in need of assistance to cover the costs of his medical treatment.

Ronald has been diagnosed with Acute Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and Depressed Skull Fracture. He is currently undergoing treatment at Asia Pacific Medical Center and requires ongoing medical care and if possible be transferred to Iloilo City for further medical options.

We are asking for your generous donation to help Ronald's family cover the costs of his medical treatment. Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards helping Ronald get the care he needs.

In light of an ongoing b*mb threat sent by an unknown individual through a messaging app, all classes, work, and office transactions in Aklan State University – Ibajay Campus are immediately suspended today, January 27, 2026, until further notice to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Local law enforcement authorities are currently on campus conducting a thorough investigation and security assessment. The University is closely coordinating with concerned authorities to verify the threat and ensure that all necessary safety and security protocols are strictly implemented.

All members of the university community are instructed to:
• Remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information
• Refrain from going to campus until an official clearance is announced
• Monitor official university communication channels for updates

The safety of our community is our highest priority.

An official memorandum will follow to provide further details and guidance.
