Current Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) scholars and alumni proudly represented Mindanao State University โ Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) during the 8th International Conference on Clean Energy and Electrical Systems (CEES 2026), held from April 28 to 30, 2026, at the Osaka Institute of Technology โ Umeda Campus in Osaka, Japan. The MSU-IIT delegation, composed of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) students and ERDT alumni, showcased the universityโs growing presence in the global engineering research community through the presentation of innovative and impactful studies.
During the three-day conference, the delegates successfully presented a total of seven research papers across several specialized tracks. These studies, which tackled emerging developments in clean energy, electrical systems, and intelligent technologies, will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineeringโan achievement that further highlights the quality and relevance of the universityโs research contributions on the international stage.
Under the topic โFault Diagnosis, Stable Operation and Intelligent Control in Power Systems,โ the university was represented by Lemuel John A. Tabada, Prof. Marven E. Jabian, Ph.D., and Arjean Rose V. Delos Santos from the College of Engineering (COE), together with Asst. Prof. Stefany Mae V. Caparida from the College of Computer Studies (CCS). Their presentations explored innovative approaches to improving the reliability, stability, and efficiency of modern power systems through advanced analytical and intelligent control methods.
Meanwhile, under the session โAdvanced Sensing Technologies for Clean Energy and Electrical,โ Asst. Prof. Rovick P. Tarife and Mark Aron E. Verano presented their respective studies. Notably, Asst. Prof. Tarife also served as a Session Chair during the conference, reflecting the trust and recognition given to MSU-IIT researchers by the international academic community. In another session focused on โEnergy Dispatch and Demand-Side Management for Electricity Markets,โ Jella Kate L. Flores from the COE presented research addressing sustainable and efficient energy utilization strategies.
Beyond the research presentations, the participation of the MSU-IIT delegation fostered valuable academic exchange and collaboration opportunities with researchers, professors, and industry experts from various countries. The conference also served as a platform for the delegates to gain deeper insights into emerging global trends and innovations in clean energy and electrical engineering.
The active participation of current MSEE students and ERDT alumni in CEES 2026 stands as a testament to MSU-IITโs continuing commitment to advancing research excellence, innovation, and global academic engagement. Through opportunities such as these, the university continues to strengthen its role in producing engineers and researchers capable of contributing meaningful solutions to both local and global challenges in energy and technology.
