Princess Gayle Pendilla, Mutya ng NISU 2023, showcased remarkable strength and composure as she concluded her two-year reign as the universityโ s queen. Amidst the unexpected challenge of an earthquake during the MUTYA NG NISU 2025 coronation night, Pendilla remained steady and graciously passed on the crown, marking the end of her illustrious tenure.
As she bid farewell, Pendilla wanted to express heartfelt gratitude to key university officials, including University President Dr. Bobby G. Gerardo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gilda E. Diguma, and Dean of the College of Management Dr. Maria Kristina Ortiz. Furthermore, she also wanted to extend her appreciation to the faculty and staff of NISU Main Campus, students, and guests who witnessed the conclusion of her reign.
Moreover, Pendilla wanted to acknowledge the individuals who played a significant role in her Mutya ng NISU journey. She wanted to thank Sir Jason Agupitan and Sir Ednel Bolivar for encouraging her to join the pageant, Sir Ronnie Salazar for his expert guidance as her backstage coach, Hermy Villa for mentoring her walk.
In addition, Pendilla thanked her BPA professors and classmates for their support, noting that they made her journey feel like a shared victory and that their cheers, support, and constant belief in her made every challenge lighter. She specifically thanked Doc. Jomartin C. Limson, Doc. Michelle B. Baco, Doc. Odessa A. Gasapo, and Prof. Donato Sese Jr.
Pendilla also expressed her deepest gratitude to her family. She thanked her parents for standing by her side, lending a listening ear during hardships, and wiping away her tears. She credited their love as her calm in every storm and courage in every battle. She also thanked her second parents, Tita Sol and Tito Masayushi, for their unwavering presence and love despite the distance.
She also wanted to say, โA true queen is not perfect. She is consistent. She is courageous. She keeps moving forward even when no one is watching.โ With her reign coming to a close, Pendilla leaves behind a legacy of poise, resilience, and determination, inspiring future generations of students at Northern Iloilo State University.
