The West Visayas State University (WVSU) Division of Tourism Management participated in the Museo Iloilo Plaza Project: Urban Development Lecture, Workshop, and Cultural Activities held on June 20, 2026, at Museo Iloilo.

Represented by two faculty members and two BSTM 2-A students, the delegation joined tourism professionals, planners, heritage advocates, artists, and fellow students in meaningful discussions on heritage conservation, urban development, and the future of public plazas.

Organized by Museo Iloilo in partnership with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and renowned urban planner and landscape architect Arch. Paulo Alcazaren, the event highlighted the importance of plazas as centers of history, culture, tourism, and community life.

Participants attended a Master Class Workshop on Plaza Conservation, Urban Planning, and Heritage Tourism, where they developed a conceptual design for a 21st-century Pototan Town Plaza. This was followed by a Public Forum on Urban Development and the Future of Plazas, which explored contemporary challenges and opportunities in preserving and revitalizing public heritage spaces.

The participation of the WVSU Division of Tourism Management reflects its continuing commitment to experiential learning, heritage conservation, sustainable tourism development, and community engagement.

𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐔𝐒 💙

What once started as simple plans, meetings, and ideas slowly turned into memories we will carry for a long time. From sleepless preparations and rushed deadlines to laughter during events, shared victories, and quiet moments behind the scenes — this term became more than just a series of activities. It became a journey of growth, friendship, and purpose.

Every outreach, seminar, competition, tour, and celebration reminded us what it truly means to serve with heart. Behind every successful event were students who gave their time, energy, and passion not for recognition, but for the organization and the people they chose to grow with.

As this term comes to a close, we look back not only at what we accomplished, but at the people we became throughout the process. The memories may now live in photos and videos, but the impact will remain in all of us. Mabuhay ang bawat alaala, bawat tagumpay, at bawat pusong naging bahagi ng paglalakbay na ito.

To every officer, volunteer, supporter, and Ka-Turista who became part of this journey — thank you for making this chapter meaningful.

And though this term is ending, the stories, friendships, and love for TSS will continue far beyond it. 🌍✈️✨
