Bridging the Gap: Workplace Preparation and Labor Awareness for Future IT Professionals 2026
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) 4th Year students successfully conducted their seminar as part of the course requirement for Seminars/Tours, under the guidance of Course Facilitator Instr. Teddy S. Fuentivilla.
The event featured insightful discussions from distinguished guest speakers who shared valuable knowledge and real-world experiences to help prepare students for their future careers in the professional industry.
Ms. Roselle D. Lao, Certified Human Resource Practitioner, opened the seminar with her topic โResume, Interview, and Workplace Preparation,โ equipping students with practical skills and confidence for future job applications and workplace challenges.
Mr. Salvador Somes Jr. discussed โProfessionalism in the Workplace, Labor Practices, and Employee Rights,โ emphasizing the importance of workplace ethics, professionalism, and understanding employee rights and responsibilities.
During the afternoon session, Ms. Maria Lucy U. Muralla presented โLabor Laws, Just Cause for Termination, and Labor Unions,โ providing students with a deeper understanding of labor regulations, employee protection, and workplace responsibilities.
To conclude the seminar, Mr. Ervin John DS. Soriano tackled โCybersecurity and Threats,โ highlighting the importance of cybersecurity awareness and the growing digital risks faced in todayโs modern industries.
The seminar served as an excellent training ground for BSIT students as they prepare to transition from academic life to professional careers. Through the guidance of the guest speakers and the engaging activities conducted throughout the event, participants gained valuable insights, practical knowledge, and enhanced career readiness.
