The Graduate School Nursing Program adheres to the philosophy and objectives of the College of Nursing program, the Vision - Mission of St. It is designed to improve the quality of the profession and aims to develop integrated, committed and competent leaders responsible for realizing the role of Nursing as a vital component of any country’s health system. More especially, the program seeks to pre

pare the students to function as specialists in the field of Nursing education and service. Graduate students are expected to:
1. utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving tool for quality patient care
2. identify and develop personal gifts and talents that one possesses in order to further the profession of nursing in the Philippines
3. demonstrate entry competence for specialization in the fields of Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Nursing Administration
4. develop an independent learning attitude and discipline in one’s field of specialization
5. utilize research in investigating and enriching the theoretical framework of nursing and improving nursing education and practice
6. enhance interest and skill in Nursing research and related background studies
7. develop competent and competitive skills to advocate a continuous personal and professional growth in herself or himself and others.
8. develop teaching strategies and mentoring skills translated from base knowledge to benefit students and other learning individuals
9. develop leadership and managerial skills in education, service and effective collaboration with other professionals
10. propagate advocacy for higher Nursing education
11. foster the spirit of globalization in nursing excellence
12. integrate Christian value systems in the acquisition of advance knowledge and health care application
13. enhance the spirit of community service with preference to the less fortunate of society

Training- Workshop on the Basics of Qualitative Research

Graduate School students participated in Training-Workshop on the Basics of Qualitative Research last September 30, 2023 at the Instructional Media Center, St. Paul University Iloilo.

Resource person, Prof. Augil Marie Robles of UP Visayas discussed the theoretical underpinnings and overview of qualitative research followed by a series of workshops on coming up with qualitative questions, analyzing qualitative data thru familiarization and coding and lastly, thematic analysis.

The training-workshop was facilitated by Graduate School – Nursing Program Thesis Seminar and Thesis Seminar students under Chynna Ashley Pendon-Valebia, RN, MAN and Carlo Cabardo, RN, MAN (Program Chair).
