UPV Peer Facilitators You are not alone. The UPV Peer Facilitators is a student-arm of GCSU of the OSA. UPV PF was formerly called UPV Junior Peer Conselors (UPV JPC).

The UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES VISAYAS PEER FACILITATORS (UPV PF) is a program of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of the university. In this nature, the organization does not need to file for organizational recognition to OSA in order to be acknowledged as one of the duly approved organizations in the campus. The name was changed since the title Counselor is only applicable to the licensed

professional practitioners like the Guidance Services Specialists (GSS) and Guidance Counselors. The organization interacts directly with the office of the OSA Director and of the GSS in carrying out its due roles, duties, and responsibilities. It was founded on the year 1992 by the GSS in order to enable and empower the students to extend and reach out to their peers in the university by providing guidance and assistance to the students closely related to the duties of the university GSS. The organization also holds office in the basement of the Cooperative Union Building (CUB) beside the office of the Anti-Sexual Harassment committee.

Kumusta, iskolar?

Due to the 4.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Iloilo yesterday, March 2, 2026, the UPV-OSA Guidance and Counseling Services Unit (GCSU), together with UPV Peer Facilitators and in partnership with the UPV USC is providing Kumustahan sessions.

The “ISKOnek: Kumustahan with Iskolars” is an initiative led by the GCSU to comfort and support our community members who may be struggling or feeling heavy-hearted following the recent disasters in their areas. This aims to provide immediate support to individuals experiencing distress after a traumatic event or crisis to promote safety, reduce stress, and connect them with resources and support.

The following slots are open for the group session in hybrid modality on March 3 & 4, 2026.

March 3, 2026 (Tuesday)
3:30 pm – 4:30 pm via Zoom

March 4, 2026 (Wednesday)
10:00 am – 11:00 am face-to-face

March 4, 2026 (Wednesday)
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm face-to-face

For those students who opt to have one-on-one sessions, please reach out to your respective college guidance counselor. Always remember that you are not alone. There are people who care and are willing to listen to you and help you, especially in these times of crisis situations.
