𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲‑𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

From October 13‑16 2026, the Philippines through CHED and SEAMEO‑RIHED hosts the landmark 2026 Higher Education Week at Sotogrande Hotel, Iloilo City, as part of our nation’s ASEAN 2026 Chairship.

John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. oversees liaison support for Malaysia’s Director‑General of Higher Education, Datuk Prof. Dr. Azlinda Binti Azman. Dr. Louise May Lim acts as dedicated liaison officer connecting Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education with visiting senior officials, policymakers, university leaders and cross‑regional partners across Southeast and East Asia.

The four‑day summit opens with the 34th SEAMEO‑RIHED Governing Board Meeting. Its flagship Regional Policy Conference explores AI‑driven digital transformation, future‑proof skills frameworks, quality assurance standards, university internationalization and inclusive student mobility. Delegates then convene for the 20th AIMS Programme Annual Review Meeting to strengthen cross‑border student‑exchange pathways. The week will cap with a meaningful AIMS‑USR Community Immersion in Miag‑ao, Iloilo, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Visayas letting international guests engage with local residents and immerse themselves in Filipino community heritage.

This historic Iloilo convening reinforces CHED’s vision: stronger regional partnerships to deliver quality, inclusive, future‑ready higher education for Southeast and East Asia.
