BAROTAC NUEVO, Iloilo β The Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) once again demonstrated its growing strength in teacher education after producing a Top 10 passer in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), led by a visually impaired graduate from its Dumangas Campus, while several campuses also posted strong passing performances in both the Elementary and Secondary levels.
Leading the universityβs achievement is Christel J. Surita of ISUFST Dumangas Campus, a person with visual impairment, who secured a place in the national Top 10 of the March 2026 LEPT Elementary Level with an impressive 92.80% rating. Despite being blind, Surita emerged as one of the countryβs highest-performing examinees, inspiring many within and beyond the university community.
The latest accomplishment also continues ISUFSTβs growing tradition of producing LET topnotchers. In September 2023, Carol Ann Cordero Awitan, also a graduate of the ISUFST Dumangas Campus, secured 8th place in the LEPT Elementary Level with a rating of 93.00%.
The achievement immediately drew pride and celebration across the university community, especially as Dumangas Campus also emerged with one of the stronger performances among ISUFST campuses in the examination results.
Based on the released Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) performance data, ISUFST-Dingle Campus posted a remarkable 100% passing rate in both the Elementary and Secondary categories for first-time takers.
For the Secondary Level, ISUFST-Dingle recorded 14 passers out of 14 examinees or 100% overall passing, while ISUFST-Dumangas registered 25 passers out of 29 examinees or 82.21% overall passing rate. ISUFST Main CampusβTiwi Site meanwhile produced 49 passers out of 64 examinees or 76.56% overall passing rate. ISUFST San Enrique Campus also posted a strong performance with 52 passers out of 56 examinees, equivalent to an impressive 92.86% overall passing rate, while ISUFST Main CampusβPoblacion Site generated 17 passers out of 22 examinees or 77.27% overall passing rate.
Overall, ISUFST recorded 157 passers out of 185 examinees in the Secondary Level, equivalent to an institutional passing rate of 84.86%βsignificantly higher than the national passing rate of 67.17%.
In the Elementary Level, ISUFST-Dingle again achieved a perfect passing rate among first-time takers with 10 passers out of 10 examinees or 100% overall passing, while ISUFST-Dumangas obtained 14 passers out of 21 examinees or 66.67% overall passing rate. ISUFST Main CampusβPoblacion Site also generated 33 passers out of 52 examinees or 63.46% overall passing rate. ISUFST San Enrique Campus likewise recorded 19 passers out of 26 examinees or 73.08% overall passing rate. Collectively, ISUFST posted 76 passers out of 109 examinees in the Elementary Level for an institutional passing rate of 69.72%, likewise surpassing the national passing rate of 67.17%.
Nationally, the PRC reported that 63,377 out of 94,357 examinees passed the March 2026 LEPT, resulting in a national passing rate of 67.17%.
University officials, faculty members, review mentors, and students welcomed the results as a reflection of the institutionβs continuing efforts to strengthen instruction, student support systems, and board preparation initiatives across campuses.

The March 2026 LEPT results also highlighted the collective efforts of faculty mentors, cooperating schools, campus administrators, review coordinators, and families who supported the graduates throughout their preparation journey.
