Through ๐„๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ : ๐’๐๐„๐ƒ๐’๐€๐ฅ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐š ๐Š๐š๐๐š ๐๐š๐ญ๐š, in partnership with ๐’๐๐„๐ƒ๐’๐€๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ, we moved with one purpose: to bring inclusive education closer to every childโ€”wherever they may be. Last November 15 in Brgy. Camiros, Anilao, Iloilo Province, we proved once again that ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„๐˜€ ๐—ป๐—ผ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†.

Together with our partner organizations, WVSU - MAARAM, Iloilo City Metro Leo Club, and the Iloilo City Metro Lions Club, MJF, we carried forward our shared cultural spirit of ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ. With wide smiles and hearts full of new learnings, the Special Education Studentsโ€™ Association (SPEDSA) successfully held its third year of Project Senyas with the theme โ€œSPEDSenyas: Planting the Seeds of Growth and Inclusivity Through FSLโ€ last November 15, 2025 at the Dentistry Merge Room (Rooms 102โ€“103). ๐Ÿ’š

In celebration of Deaf Awareness Week, the program offered a basic introduction to the concepts of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and Deaf culture which were discussed by Mrs. Katty Jane B. Umblas and Prof. Ma. Teresa S. Caritativo. Students were able to learn basic signs and participate in activities that allowed them to connect with each other through FSL. ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿป

โ€œIโ€™m happy I joined this course, especially this event, because I never thought learning sign language would be this fun,โ€ Keilah De Los Santos shared, โ€œOur speaker really shared insightful information and thoughts about Deaf people and their culture.โ€

The event served more than teaching students about basic sign language, but it also served as a reminder that through sign language, we are building bridges. With this yearโ€™s theme, let us continue to grow and connect with each other, and build a community that fosters inclusivity and understanding. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿป
