The Western Institute of Technology proudly recognizes the remarkable contribution of Engr. Nilo J. Jardeleza, a distinguished alumnus of WIT and an esteemed faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department, for representing Western Visayas during the RDC VI Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting held at the House of Representatives, Batasang Pambansa Complex, Quezon City on May 26, 2026.
Serving as Chairperson of the Infrastructure Development Committee (IDC) VI and a respected 15-year veteran of the Regional Development Council (RDC), Engr. Jardeleza presented vital policy recommendations focused on strengthening regional infrastructure development and addressing pressing concerns in Iloilo City and Western Visayas.
Among the key recommendations he raised were the urgent updating of the obsolete feasibility study for the proposed 16-kilometer PaviaโJaro Floodway to help mitigate the persistent flooding problems in Iloilo City, and the reactivation of the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) to reinforce effective project monitoring and accountability.
The meeting gathered prominent regional leaders and officials, including RDC-6 Chair Gov. Jose Enrique Miraflores, DepDev-6 Regional Director Arecio A. Casing, Jr., Cong. Jam-Jam Baronda, and representatives from various congressional districts, where discussions also covered budget proposals and major regional infrastructure initiatives.
The WIT community takes immense pride in Engr. Jardelezaโs exemplary leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to public service and sustainable regional development. His accomplishments continue to reflect the excellence and enduring legacy of the Western Institute of Technology in producing competent and service-oriented professionals.
