PRESERVING THE LINES OF HISTORY
Step into the architectural legacy of Mentrida Hall through original 1953 drawings by Benjamin Hilado, Designer-Architect, and Isaac Masangkay, Designer-Engineer. Completed in 1954, the University of San Agustin Chapel and Library Building reflects the enduring relationship between faith, knowledge, and community.
Hand-drawn using technical pens on tracing paper, these historic documents showcase the precision, patience, and craftsmanship that shaped architectural practice before digital technology.
CONNECTING GENERATIONS THROUGH ART
Complementing the historical drawings are watercolor renderings and pen-and-ink exercises by second-year Architecture students, guided by Ar. Adonis Canonicato, Design Professor and Mentor, through the Visual Techniques course.
Together, these works celebrate the continuing value of manual drawing in developing observation, proportion, perspective, and architectural expression. While technology evolves, the essential skills of seeing, thinking, and creating remain fundamental to design.
