The Political Science Studentsโ€™ Organization, Inc. (PSSO, Inc.) successfully held its webinar in partnership with JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang in celebration of Womenโ€™s Month with the theme โ€œ๐‘ฌ๐’Ž๐’‘๐’๐’˜๐’†๐’“๐’†๐’… ๐‘ต๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’, ๐‘ฌ๐’Ž๐’‘๐’๐’˜๐’†๐’“๐’†๐’… ๐‘พ๐’๐’Ž๐’†๐’," via Google Meet and a Facebook livestream last March 14, 2026.

The webinar was an array of both fun and learning as the attendees were able to navigate the role of women in the legal and political space through the knowledge of keynote speaker Atty. Eugenie Marie Senupe. She highlighted that while womenโ€™s roles throughout the years have evolved and made progress, the fight towards equality continues. When asked how the youth could contribute to bringing reforms into fruition, she touted the importance of voting, and voting wisely, as those who occupy seats in the government determine the fate of our nation.

After the discussion, the particpants engaged in enlivening ice-breaker games where they displayed vocal flair with their golden voices.

Following the brief interval, the attendees were transported back in time to explore the identity of women in Philippine history with keynote speaker, Prof. Joyce Chirstine Colon. She plunged into the depths of the Babaylan in Pre-colonial Philippine Society and how babaylanism is practiced. As a powerful wrap-up to her lecture, she stressed the importance of understanding that babaylanism is a journey, not a destination -- it is a slow and steady work of remembering who we are.

As the webinar came to a close, the participants were reminded that the journey of empowering women does not end within the walls of a single event. It continues in the spaces that we courageously occupy. May the lessons and stories from this celebration of Womenโ€™s Month continue to bloom within each of us as we move forward in shaping a more inclusive and equitable nation.

The Political Science Studentsสผ Organization, Inc. is grateful to share the success of the ๐๐’๐’๐Ž ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”: ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐ฌ, ๐Ž๐ง๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž last February 20, 2026 at the WVSU Audio-Visual Hall.

The morning games commenced with the four districts trading one sharp point after another in the Binaisay segment using the Asian Parliamentary debate format. The Mining and Lumber districts were the first to clash, with the former toppling the latter on the motion "๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜—๐˜Œ๐˜š๐˜Š๐˜ˆ๐˜™ ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜Š๐˜๐˜Š๐˜› ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ."

After their equal parts competitive and light-hearted match came the second match composed of the Fishing and Agriculture districts. They crossed swords on the motion "๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜บ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต ๐˜ข ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ'๐˜ด ๐˜ซ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ." Ultimately, the Mining district went for the kill and bested the Fishing district, securing their place as the Champions of this year's Binaisay.

After the spirited debates came the even more spirited PSSOperStar segment where district representatives satirically impersonated politicians, with the Mining district representative outshining the wit, humor, and talent of his other district counterparts.

As the morning segments concluded, the team-building activities of the afternoon were ushered in with battle cries reverberating through the walls of the arena. From a physically intense game of wig-snatching, a strategy-filled garter and balloon race, to a sunny dodgeball game at the field, the districts had their equal fill of competition and camaraderie.

After an entire day of conquering foe after foe, the Mining District emerged as the ultimate victors, showing that there is potent strength in numbers, unity, and team effort.

The PSSO Games 2026 has finally come to an end, and felicitations are in order for every district and capitol member who ventured into the arena and took part in the games. Indeed, the odds were on our favor.

The Political Science Studentsสผ Organization, Inc. joins the whole nation in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.

Beyond the yellow ribbons and the gathering of crowds, this day represents a pivotal shift toward the democratic freedoms we enjoy at present. It serves as a reminder of a time when Filipinos from all walks of life, valiantly standing side-by-side, demonstrated the power of collective action and non-violent change.

Contrary to common perception, honoring this anniversary isn't just about looking at vestiges of a bygone society; itโ€™s about understanding how those moments defined our present and how we can continue to build a more inclusive and resilient democracy for generations to come.
