BOHOL, Philippines — Technical Panel for Medical Education (TPME) Chairman Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz visited Bohol Island State University (BISU) on September 24, 2026, to lead the evaluation of the university's Doctor of Medicine program.

As TPME Chairman, Dr. Villaruz oversees the official evaluation and quality assurance reviews of medical programs across the country to ensure they meet national standards for medical education.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Today’s flag ceremony became a celebration of excellence as West Visayas State University recognized College of Nursing Batch Vesta, Class of 2026, for their outstanding performance in the August 2026 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination.

All 89 examinees passed, giving WVSU-CON a 100% passing rate and ranking first among the country’s top-performing schools with 89 examinees.

Four Taga-West Nurses also earned spots among the nation’s topnotchers:

Top 6 — Criselynn Marie B. Dela Cruz — 91.20%
Top 9 — Lj Orpheus C. Soriano — 90.60%
Top 10 — Paula Marie B. Deloria — 90.40%
Top 10 — GM Grace H. Garovillo — 90.40%

In his message, WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz congratulated Batch Vesta for bringing honor to the University and reminded the new nurses that their achievement is not only a testament to their hard work, but also a call to carry the values of excellence, compassion, and service wherever their profession takes them.

𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞: 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘, 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦

West Visayas State University (WVSU) congratulates the College of Nursing (CON) Batch Vesta, Class of 2026, for achieving a 100% passing rate in the August 2026 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE), with all 89 examinees successfully passing.

With 89 examinees, WVSU-CON ranked first among the country’s top-performing schools, reaffirming its tradition of excellence in nursing education.

Four Taga-West Nurses also secured places among the nation’s topnotchers:

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz joined the University community in recognizing the 14 CICT-BLIS graduates who achieved a 100% passing rate in the September 2026 Librarians Computer-Based Licensure Examination.

Adding to the milestone, Louise Angelika P. Pahilanga, Class of 2026 Valedictorian, ranked Second Nationwide with a 92.40% rating.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: A shared commitment to research, knowledge exchange, and academic development brings West Visayas State University (WVSU) and the University of San Agustin (USA) together through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Led by WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz, the partnership opens opportunities for collaborative research, capacity-building, academic resource exchange, and meaningful engagement among faculty and students.

Two institutions. One shared pursuit: creating knowledge, building capacity, and expanding opportunities.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Public service begins with a commitment—and WVSU President Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz led the University’s top officials in putting that commitment into action through the signing of the Lingkod Bayani Commitment Wall, in observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

Joined by the University’s vice presidents, Dr. Villaruz affirmed the values embodied in this year’s theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani,” anchored on Puso sa Serbisyo, Dangal sa Tungkulin, at Galing sa Paglilingkod.

At WVSU, being a Lingkod Bayani means choosing integrity, accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement—not only during an anniversary celebration, but every day in service to the University and the public.
