The Book Lovers Club (BLC) successfully conducted its Storytime and Reading Literacy Program of the month on September 24, 2026, at the Basic Education–Library, featuring the classic story The Three Little Pigs.

The storytelling session was facilitated by Kyle Marie A. Belicena, Kheyzie Epelipcia, and Chelsea Euryb Magno, with the enthusiastic participation of Group C Grade 7 students.

Through this fun and meaningful activity, students were encouraged to appreciate the joy of reading, use their imagination, and learn valuable lessons from the story.

On August 17, 2026, our junior high school students participated in the Term 1 Library Instruction held at the HS Library. The sessions were designed to enhance their library, information, and research skills.

Students explored the following topics:

🔹 Grade 7 – Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC)
Learning how library materials are organized and how to locate books efficiently.

🔹 Grade 8 – Using the Dictionary and Thesaurus
Developing vocabulary skills and learning how to find word meanings, synonyms, and other useful information.

🔹 Grades 9 and 10 – Using ProQuest and EBSCO for Academic Research
Exploring reliable online databases and learning how to search for credible sources for academic research.

Through these library instruction sessions, our junior high school students gained valuable skills in locating, accessing, and using information effectively.

May these learning experiences help our students become more independent, confident, and information-literate learners.

Another meaningful reading experience took place on August 12, 2026, at the HS Library, as Group B of Grade 7 – Tanker participated in our Storytime and Reading Literacy Program.

The session was facilitated by our August Book Lovers Club (BLC) storytellers—Kristian Jan Po, Xavrian Brylle Dayonot, Princess Ayamae Sales, Hannah Kamiyana Padernal, and Gwyne Madison Giorgio—who warmly welcomed the students and guided them through an engaging storytelling activity featuring “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

After the storytelling, the students actively participated in a guided reading and question-and-answer activity, sharing their ideas, reactions, and understanding of the story. The session concluded with a short reflection and closing activity.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated BLC storytellers and to Grade 7 – Tanker, Group B, for their active participation and enthusiasm.

May every story continue to spark curiosity, strengthen reading skills, and inspire our students to discover the joy of reading.

The Book Lovers Club (BLC) successfully conducted a meaningful seminar-workshop last August 6, 2026, on “The Art of Storytelling” at the HS Library, with the participation of all BLC members.

The session was facilitated by the BLC Advisers, with Mrs. Tina Joy Lastimoza, BLC Adviser, serving as the speaker. She shared her knowledge, experiences, and practical tips on effective storytelling. Through an engaging and interactive session, our BLC members learned valuable techniques to make storytelling more expressive, creative, and meaningful.

The activity aimed to equip our young storytellers with the confidence and skills needed to share stories effectively, especially in preparation for our upcoming Storytime and Reading Literacy Program.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Tina Joy Lastimoza for generously sharing her expertise and to all our BLC members for their active participation and enthusiasm.

This August 31st, let us honor the sacrifices, bravery, courage, and legacy of the Filipino heroes who built and shaped the foundations of our nation and paved the way for future generations.

Heroes are not only those who make history, but also those who contribute to the growth and progress of our nation. As Lacsonians, we carry the responsibility to serve, lead, and make a difference for the betterment of our country.

It was a wonderful and meaningful reading session last July 31, 2026, at the HS Library, as Group A of Grade 7 – Tanker joined our Storytime and Reading Literacy Program. The session was warmly facilitated by our July Book Lovers Club (BLC) facilitators—Jason Angelo Hechanova, Alliyah Francesca Macazar, Ryche Charllynme Querimit, and Chariz Jennine Monarca.

The students began with an introduction, followed by an engaging storytime featuring “Pyramus and Thisbe.” After listening to the story, the participants took part in a guided reading session through questions and answers, sharing their thoughts and understanding of the story. The activity ended with a meaningful reflection and closing, allowing the students to connect the story’s lessons to their own experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to our enthusiastic BLC facilitators and to Grade 7 – Tanker, Group A for making the session lively, interactive, and enjoyable.

May this activity continue to inspire our students to read more, learn more, and discover the joy and magic that stories bring.
