๐ง As one of its initiatives, the Biological Sciences Department officially launched โ๐ช๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐จ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ง๐๐ก๐ญ๐: ๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ก๐๐ง๐ฌ-๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ง๐๐, ๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ฆ-๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ง๐ฌโ this April 16 at Barangay Tanza Timawa Zone II.
The said activity brought together members of the said barangay, including their barangay officials and local residents, aiming to establish water safety and sustainability in their area.
During the program, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the university and the barangay. CAS Dean Dr. Bonna Palma and WVSU BioSci Department Chair Dr. Jeannemar Genevieve Yap-Figueras emphasized the importance of community involvement in achieving their long-term goals.
This also served as the community immersion for BS Biology 4-A students who conducted surveys, assessing the current water situation of the community.
Edcharles John R. Baylon, MSc., a member of the said department, was the one who spearheaded the project. In his closing remarks, he assured the residents that Waterguard Tanza will be a long-term commitment.
