The College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources (CAFENR) continues to strengthen its commitment to agricultural education and community engagement through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives.

On September 16-17, 2026, CAFENR faculty members were invited as resource speakers during the 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 held at 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹. The invited faculty members included 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗖𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗕. 𝗔𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗮 of the Department of Animal Science, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼 𝗣. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗼 of the Department of Agricultural Entrepreneurship, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗘. 𝗩𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗝𝗿.of the Department of Crop Science.

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Rural Farm School learners and teachers in agricultural research writing, from identifying researchable agricultural concerns and developing research titles, backgrounds, questions, and objectives, to organizing information and presenting initial research concepts. It also provided Grade 10 learners with guidance in developing feasible and sustainable farm enterprise plans while strengthening teachers' capacity to mentor learners in research and project development.

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗼 𝗥. 𝗟𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗩, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗩. Cavite State University (CvSU) strengthened its international engagement in agricultural education, research, and innovation through its participation in the 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗜𝗔𝗖𝟭𝟬) and the 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗔𝗔𝗔𝗖𝗨𝟮𝟱), held in Melaka, Malaysia, from September 8–10, 2026.

Dr. Abigail P. Daria, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources (CAFENR), represented Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, University President, during the international gathering of agricultural colleges and universities. Dr. Daria presented a poster featuring Cavite State University, highlighting the University's academic, research, and institutional contributions to agricultural development.

Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Karl Louisse D. Obispo of the Department of Animal Science, CAFENR, represented CvSU in the scientific program through an oral research presentation under the Climate-Smart & Novel Farming System category. His paper, entitled “Influence of Dietary Vitamin E and Selenium on the Laying Performance, Egg Quality, and Carcass Characteristics of Japanese Quail (𝘊𝘰𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘹 𝘤𝘰𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘹 𝘫𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢) under Heat Stress (34°C),” focused on the potential of nutritional strategies to mitigate the effects of elevated temperature on poultry production.

Beyond their presentations, Dr. Daria and Asst. Prof. Obispo actively participated in the plenary talks, gaining insights from international experts on emerging trends, innovations, and challenges shaping agriculture and agricultural higher education. Their participation provided opportunities for knowledge exchange and strengthened CvSU's engagement with the broader international agricultural research and education community.

As an active member of the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities (AAACU), CvSU also participated in the AAACU General Assembly, where member institutions gathered to discuss matters concerning the Association and further opportunities for collaboration, academic exchange, and institutional cooperation.

The participation of Dr. Daria and Asst. Prof. Obispo reflects CvSU's continuing commitment to internationalization, research excellence, climate-smart agriculture, and academic collaboration. Their involvement brought both the University's institutional initiatives and research innovations to an international platform while creating opportunities to strengthen partnerships with agricultural institutions across Asia and beyond.

Through its participation in IAC10 and AAACU25, Cavite State University continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing science-based, innovative, and climate-resilient agricultural systems, reinforcing its role as an institution contributing to the future of agriculture in the Philippines and the region.

The presentation highlights the Department’s continuing commitment to advancing research in animal nutrition, poultry production, and climate-resilient animal agriculture. It provided an opportunity to share research findings with researchers, educators, and agricultural professionals from across Asia while contributing to broader discussions on strategies for improving animal productivity and resilience under environmental stressors.

This international engagement reflects the dedication of the CvSU Department of Animal Science to generating relevant, evidence-based research and sharing knowledge beyond the local and national setting. It also strengthens the Department’s visibility in the international academic community and creates opportunities for meaningful scholarly exchange and future research collaboration.

The Department recognizes this achievement as a reflection of Asst. Prof. Obispo’s commitment to research excellence and professional engagement, as well as the collective efforts of the faculty, researchers, students, and collaborators who contribute to the advancement of animal science at Cavite State University.
