The BRITE Center through its DOST-PCAARRD-funded extension project, “S&T Community-Based Farm (STCBF) on Harnessing the Synergy of Vegetable Production and Stingless Beekeeping (VegeBee) conducted the “VegeBee Community Pantry for PUV Drivers” on April 23, 2026 at Gate 2 Cavite State University- Main Campus. This aimed to support the community of the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers in this time of global oil crisis.
Through the collective efforts of VegeBee project partners and private donors, a variety of farm produce (tomato, eggplant, cucumber, chili, bell pepper, okra, sitaw, lettuce, pechay, kalabasa, ginger, gabi, monggo, onion, avocado, kamias, guyabano, papaya, banana and eggs) were shared to the community of PUV drivers of Indang, Cavite. A total of 100 take-home bags of vegetables and eggs were distributed to the community.
Thank you Cavite State University, our dear President Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, DOST-PCAARRD, VegeBee Project Partners, generous donors, CvSUCivil Security Office, and the PUV drivers who took part and supported this meaningful initiative.
