As higher education continues to place greater emphasis on collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange, Colegio de San Juan de Letran–Manila has taken another step toward strengthening its academic partnerships through a Memorandum of Agreement with Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao (PDM).

The MOA signing was led by Rev. Fr. Raymund Fernando P. Jose, O.P., Rector and President, who served as signatory on behalf of Letran, with Prof. Danilo K. Villena, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Louie Ian Mariano, MEN, Director of the Office for Innovation, Research, Planning and Quality Assurance, serving as witnesses. Representing PDM were Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Aquino, Ph.D., President, and Dr. Dolores DC. Cajucom, Ph.D., School Administrator.

The partnership establishes a framework for joint research initiatives, scholarly publications, academic exchanges, conferences, curriculum enrichment, capacity-building activities, and other collaborative academic endeavors. It also provides opportunities for future industry partnerships and experiential learning activities through separate activity-specific agreements when applicable.
Through this collaboration, Letran Manila and PDM aim to strengthen research capacity, expand academic opportunities, and promote meaningful knowledge exchange among students, faculty members, and researchers.

The agreement reinforces both institutions’ shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, ethical scholarship, and institutional development, while creating sustainable avenues for future academic and research cooperation.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: The Research and Publication Department proudly congratulates Asst. Prof. Melvin E. Bernardino, RND, MSCN; Jeanne Carla Bruce, RND, MSCN; Asst. Prof. Sheena Marie L. Napata, PFT, MSFS; Bianca Nicole Estrella, RND; Kyla Anne Velasco, RND; and Abigail Fantologo, RND on publishing their study in Exploration of Foods and Foodomics.

Their research investigates habitual ultra-processed food (UPF) intake among Filipino youth and its link to body composition and health risks, highlighting key associations with body fat percentage and central adiposity. This work advances nutrition research and supports public health strategies in the Philippines.

​Indexed in both Scopus and Web of Science, their research titled "AI-USE PREFERENCES AMONG METROPOLITAN TOURISM STUDENTS IN THE PHILIPPINES: A CHOICE EXPERIMENT STUDY" marks another significant milestone for Letranite research excellence on the global stage.

Held at Universitas Andalas in Padang, Indonesia, from July 14–15, 2026, these outstanding student-researchers were the only Filipinos to present their papers at the international conference, showcasing true Letranite academic excellence on the global stage.
