First Meeting Recap: Setting the Tone for the Year — 𝗔.𝗬. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

On July 30, 2026, the USM College of Agriculture–Entomology students successfully conducted the election for the 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 for the 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 2026–2027. This marks the beginning of a new chapter of leadership, service, and collaboration within the organization.

As part of the organization's annual leadership transition, fourth-year students led the election of the Entomology Society's main officers while third-year students conducted the selection of Junior Officers under the guidance and supervision of their seniors. A complete list of student leaders who will serve and represent the Entomology Society throughout the A.Y. 2026–2027 was formally established through this collaborative effort, which reinforced commitment to responsible leadership, continuity, and active student participation.

The meeting was graced by the presence of the Society Adviser, 𝗠𝗮'𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗯𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗠. 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗧𝘂𝗺𝗹𝗮𝗱, and the Department Chairperson, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲 𝗦. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻, 𝗝𝗿.; their guidance and support serve as encouragement to every member within the organization.

Key operational matters and preparations for the upcoming academic year were discussed by the group during a meeting that occurred after the election. The meeting provided an opportunity for members to exchange ideas, strengthen communication, and collaborate on the organization's goals.

The newly elected officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Entomology Society with 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬. May their term bring about significant achievements and contribute to the continued progress of the USM College of Agriculture–Entomology Society throughout the 2026–2027 Academic Year.

Hats off to one of our dear faculty, Sir 𝑱𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒑𝒉 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒐 𝑸𝒖𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒅𝒐 for having graduated his Doctor of Philosophy in Entomology today, July 4, 2026 from the University of the Philippines - Los Baños! 👏
