As the curtain falls, my time as the SSAO President for Academic Year 2025โ€“2026 comes to an end, I surrender this seat with a ๐—ต๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜.

This may not have been the most peaceful chapter in the history of SSAO, but it has undoubtedly been one of its most fruitful and dynamic years. It was a year of ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€, ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜„๐˜๐—ต, ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ปโ€”a year that tested not only our leadership but also our character.

In my two years of service of being the ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ and the ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ within this office, I came to understand how the system operates and, more importantly, who it exists for: ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€. SSAO was never meant to serve power, positions, or personalities. It was built to serve the student body.

As a member of the School Board of Trustees, I learned that leadership means ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜€๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€, especially in rooms where they have no seat at the table. Be the voice they entrusted to youโ€”speak with courage, stand with conviction, and never forget that your duty is to protect the welfare of those you represent.

I am deeply grateful to our administrators for their guidance and trust throughout this journey: Rev. Fr. Richard Lachica, Rev. Fr. Eugene D. Lucerna II, Dr. Roxanne Cabarubias, Rev. Fr. Raffy C. Carnal, Dr. Jocelyn Ynchausti, Dr. Joe-ann V. Jonota, Dr. Raffy C. Thank you for supporting student leadership and allowing us to serve with purpose and integrity.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to ๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ, whose guidance and unwavering support ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ throughout this journey. To my fellow SSAO officers, thank you for your patience, dedication, and resilience throughout this journey. One realization that constantly inspired me was the kind of people who choose to serve in this office. SSAO officers are not ordinary students. They come from different walks of life yet share one purpose: to serve something greater than themselves.

Leadership is not about holding a position, but about being a ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜โ€”listening, serving, and placing studentsโ€™ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ of every decision. Let no student ever feel too small to matter or too different to belong, for this school is built not by its walls, but by the hearts within it.

What many did not know was that this year carried destructive battles as well. We lost someone deeply important to the office. It felt like losing a pilot mid-flight and suddenly being forced to take control of the aircraftโ€”with no manual, no instructions, and no certainty of landing safely.

Yet despite the grief,

Events were organized. Responsibilities were fulfilled. Hearts grew weary, faith was tested, but we stood firm. Organizing Sangyaw, Intramurals, PRISAACK, and many other activities became a defining moments of our journey. Through it all, we were reminded that SSAO officers are students tooโ€”young people ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด.

We learned that leadership does not mean bowing to authority without question. Teachers, administrators, officers, and students alike remain accountable for their actions. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต, and authority should never place anyone beyond criticism.

There were moments when our principles were tested and our loyalties questioned. From donation drives and volunteer work to seminars, school activities, attendance monitoring, and countless documents, every task was carried out by officers who willingly gave their time, energy, and hearts in the name of service.

Because leadership was never about compliance.

The challenges we faced did not break us; They strengthened our resolve to defend the rights, welfare, and privileges of every KCCian. Whether checking attendance sheets or organizing grand events, the principle remained the same: every student must remain at the center of everything we do.

As I leave this office, ๐—œ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ผ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฒโ€”for the victories, failures, lessons, friendships, and even the battles that shaped us.

This office have contributed so many defining moments of my life. It taught me to keep an open mind, to listen before judging, and to Leadership is not merely about making decisions; it is about understanding perspectives, extending grace, and believing in the potential of others.

Though my time here ends, traces of me will remainโ€”not in titles or photographs, but in ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฑ. The fingerprints left behind should remind future leaders that this office exists for the students and bends to no individual, no pressure, and no personal interest.

KCCians, you have been more than the people we served; you have been my companions in this journey. Thank you for your trust, your courage, and your belief that change is always possible.

As one chapter ends and another begins, the Passing of the Key of Responsibility symbolizes the transition of leadership from outgoing officers to newly elected leaders. It serves as a reminder of the commitment, integrity, and dedication required to serve the student body. Let us celebrate this milestone and welcome the next generation of leaders as they begin their journey of service and responsibility. May they continue to lead with passion, uphold the values of the organization, and inspire positive change within the community.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: All newly elected officers are required to attend. We look forward to seeing you there, leaders!

The Supreme Student Affairs Organization (SSAO) officers of Academic Year 2025โ€“2026 gathered at the CMAT Building, Rooms 103-104, on June 8, 2026, for their recollection activity centered on the theme, "The Ministry of Service, the Value of Leadership, and the Gift of Friendship: Manifestations of God's Grace."

Serving as the guest speaker was Sem. John Francis Sermona, Master of Arts in Religious Education, who delivered a profound talk on service, leadership, and the gift of friendship. He also facilitated activities that allowed the officers to reflect, strengthen their bonds, and deepen their understanding of servant leadership, which was one of the primary objectives of the activity.

The activity concluded with closing remarks delivered by Jephsy J. Labrador, LPT, SSAO-College Coordinator.

As they near the end of their term, the recollection offered the officers an opportunity to look back on their shared journey and appreciate the experiences that shaped them as student leaders.

Todayโ€™s Pride may look different, but its roots remain the same. Pride traces back to the 1969 Stonewall Riots, when LGBTQ+ individuals resisted police harassment and discrimination, sparking a movement for equality, dignity, and human rights.

Before the parades, before the colors painted the streets, there was courage.

May Pride remind us that gender identity and sexual orientation are not punchlines. They are truthsโ€”deeply personal realities that deserve respect, dignity, and understanding. Pride reminds us that this too is political.

Pride began as a protest, and perhaps that is what we must never forget. It was born from a refusal to remain silent in the face of injustice. It was born from the belief that every person deserves to live authentically without fear.

The daily struggles of the LGBTQ+ community are not comedy. They are not entertainment. They are the painful realities of people who continue to face discrimination, rejection, and prejudice simply for being themselves.

And until every member of the LGBTQ+ community can walk through life without having to defend their existence, the march goes on.

May we never forget that Pride was born not from comfort, but from courage. And may we carry that courage forwardโ€”louder, brighter, and prouder than ever.

For as long as people are mocked for who they are, as long as love is questioned, and as long as identities are treated as subjects of ridicule, ๐‘ท๐’“๐’Š๐’…๐’† ๐’“๐’†๐’Ž๐’‚๐’Š๐’๐’” ๐’๐’†๐’„๐’†๐’”๐’”๐’‚๐’“๐’š.

We celebrate pride not only in June but everyday!
