Dr. Mary Ann S. Dagunan's journey is one defined not by titles or recognition, but by an unwavering commitment to education, research, communities, and the environment.
From her early years as a forestry student to becoming an educator, researcher, and environmental advocate, every step has been guided by a belief that knowledge should create meaningful change.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Forestry from West Visayas State University, she continued her academic pursuit by earning a Master of Science in Forestry, with a minor in Environmental Science, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, before completing her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management at Central Philippines State University.
Yet beyond every diploma lies a greater achievement—the countless lives she has touched.
Her research was never intended to remain within the pages of journals or library shelves. It was designed to answer real problems, strengthen communities, and provide scientific solutions that safeguard both people and the environment.
She has never hesitated to walk difficult roads, to stand beside farmers in the early hours of the morning, or to immerse herself in the realities faced by the communities she serves. For Dr. Dagunan, meaningful leadership begins by listening before leading.
