HEADS UP, ASPIRING COSCHO SCHOLARS!πŸ“£

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) have signed a Joint Memorandum Circular revising the implementing guidelines of the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and Their Families (CoScho), introducing a more efficient and responsive system for selecting scholars and delivering assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

For Academic Year 2026–2027, the program will offer a total of 10,789 scholarship slots nationwide, including 6,824 new beneficiaries and 3,965 continuing scholars.

The CoScho Program supports qualified coconut farmers and their dependents in pursuing undergraduate studies, particularly in agriculture, agricultural engineering, agribusiness management, agricultural economics, and other programs identified by the PCA.

Through this initiative, the government hopes to help develop future professionals who can contribute to the growth, modernization, and sustainability of the Philippine coconut industry.

Qualified scholars may receive educational assistance and other forms of support under the program, while scholar-graduates are encouraged to give back through a return service component that promotes innovation and community development in coconut-growing areas.

For many Filipino families, this scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It is an opportunity to access higher education, break barriers brought about by economic hardship, and create better opportunities for future generations.

June 15-19, 2026
Topic: Strengthened Through Trials
Verse for the Week:
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

James chose the word makarios, translated into English as β€œblessed,” to refer to someone who has been highly favored by God's grace. The term β€œblessed” describes an inner joy that remains undisturbed by outward circumstances because it comes from the Lord. James reminded the early Christians to remain steadfast when trials and suffering come, not because such experiences are enjoyable, but because joy in God is possible even in the midst of trials. God has promised the crown of life, an extraordinary blessing, to those who love Him and serve Him faithfully. Blessed are those who remain steadfast when trials come.

However, even when we are assured of the blessings that God brings through trials, humanly speaking, we would never wish suffering upon ourselves or anyone else. Yet God's ways are higher and better than our ways. We may not fully understand what God is doing when trials come, but we can be assured that He is working for our good and for His glory. As painful as trials may be, they strengthen our faith and deepen our gratitude for our Savior, who suffered greatly on the cross to save us from our sins.

Dear brethren in the Lord, let us trust our great Savior and find joy in Him when we face painful and difficult trials and tests. It may not be easy, but the One who holds our tomorrow can accomplish perfect and marvelous things.
