CAS.XIX ARTE/ARTE marks 19 years of the College of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) marked its 19th anniversary through the CAS.XIX ARTE/ARTE held on March 17, 2026, at the Clemente Sports Complex. The event emphasized the integration of the arts and sciences as interconnected disciplines in fostering holistic education.
Students, faculty members, and guests gathered for an evening program that reflected the collegeโs academic programs and student activities. The program included a red carpet walk, short film screenings, an awards presentation, and an after-party.
The event was spearheaded by the Arts and Sciences Student Council under the leadership of Governor Francis Ann Marie Delos Reyes, together with its officers, and supported by the ABEL.Network, United Statistics Students Society, and Social Science Society.
One of the key parts of the event was the awarding ceremony, which recognized outstanding cast performances and production teams from 11 student-produced films. The entries, produced by students from the BS Statistics, AB English Language, and AB Social Science programs, presented diverse perspectives and approaches to storytelling. A dinner segment also provided an opportunity for attendees to interact before the program transitioned into an after-party with music and entertainment.
In his welcome message, College Dean Prof. Marfy M. Cabayao emphasized the role of both the humanities and the sciences in addressing contemporary challenges. He also stressed the importance of student responsibility and accountability in organizing and participating in academic and co-curricular activities. According to Cabayao, ARTE/ARTE serves not only as a celebration of the college but also as a platform for students to practice discipline, collaboration, and respect, particularly in maintaining an organized, resource-conscious, and responsible college environment.
The success of the event was made possible through the support of various university offices, including the General Services Office (GSO), Management Information System (MIS), College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), Quality Assurance Office (QA), College of Hospitality Management (CHM), the CPSU Heritage and Cultural Center, the Public Information Office, and The Cenphilians, which provided their expertise and services. The organizers also recognized the contributions of students and faculty members who took part in the planning and implementation of the activity.
Now in its 19th year, the College of Arts and Sciences continues to strengthen its academic programs, all of which are Level III accredited by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) and have been granted Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). These achievements reflect the collegeโs ongoing commitment to quality instruction, research, and community engagement.
