On May 15, 2026, we gathered at the USC-AVR one last time as the Executive Committee. Looking back, we are filled with immense gratitude and joy for everything we have accomplished together. The late-night grinds and heavy workloads were never a burden; they were the highlights of a beautiful term, fueled by our collective passion to make a difference. We chose this path because we wanted to serve, and we loved every single minute of it.

The FUSC HALALAN 2026 held last May 7 was not merely an event of speeches and slogans; it was a long-overdue awakening. While the campaign trail often focuses on the "what" and the "how," the candidates of ASU-Kalibo brought a fierce challenge to the "who" and the "why." They stepped onto the stage not to ask for permission to lead, but to demand a standard that has been missing for far too long.

President Quives, Vice President Dela Cruz, Senator Legaspi, and Senator Niรฑofranco did not offer the usual "perfumed" politics of visibility. Instead, they issued a direct challenge to those at the top: that leadership is not a decorative title to be displayed, but a heavy responsibility to be carried. They stripped away the vanity of ambition and replaced it with the grit of accountability.

They stood as a warning that student representation is not a performance art or a personal trophy. It is the unwavering duty to speak the truth even when it is uncomfortable, and to represent the student body beyond the safety of ceremonies. They challenged a mindset that has normalized passive leadership, reminding everyone that we do not need leaders who only shine in the spotlight. We need leaders who have the backbone to stay standing when the system pushes back.

The Grand Rally left us with a truth that can no longer be ignored: Leadership without courage is just an ornament.

Last May 7, ASU-Kalibo proved that when students stop settling for decorations and start demanding genuine responsibility, the systems built on silence will finally begin to shake. โœŠ๐Ÿ”ฅ

From review sessions to real results โ€” CSE Ready Year 2 has proven once again that accessible and student-centered support creates meaningful impact.

Out of 22 participants, 11 successfully passed the Civil Service Examination, achieving a remarkable 50% passing rate โ€” far above the national passing rate of 15.85%.

This achievement is more than just numbers. It reflects the hard work, determination, and perseverance of every participant, while also showing the importance of creating opportunities and support systems that help students reach their goals and succeed.

The most dangerous thing a student body can become is silent while everything around them demands change.

FUSC HALALAN 2026 was not simply an election season filled with names, positions, and applause. It became a moment of awakeningโ€”a reminder that student leadership was never meant to survive on visibility alone. Because leadership without courage becomes performance, and leadership without purpose becomes nothing more than another title hanging on a wall.

The USC candidates of ASU-Kalibo stepped onto that stage carrying something heavier than ambition: responsibility. Responsibility to speak when others choose convenience. Responsibility to represent students beyond ceremonies and slogans. Responsibility to remind everyone that leadership is not about being admiredโ€”it is about being accountable even when the truth becomes uncomfortable.

President Quives, Vice President Dela Cruz, Senator Legaspi, and Senator Niรฑofranco did not merely deliver speeches. They challenged a mindset that has normalized passive leadership and empty representation for far too long. They reminded the crowd that students do not need leaders who are only present in moments of celebration. Students need leaders who remain standing in moments of pressure, criticism, and difficult conversations.

Because the real measure of leadership is never found in election results, loud cheers, or popularity.
It is found in the courage to continue serving even when there are no lights left on the stage.
