𝐊𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

On August 14, 2026 at the Municipal Compound, Kapalong, Davao del Norte, faculty members and administrative personnel of Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST) joined the Health and Wellness Program of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kapalong, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among public servants and community stakeholders.

The activity brought together personnel from different offices in a fun and engaging wellness session featuring physical activities and group exercises. KCAST’s participation reflects the College’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote health, well-being, camaraderie, and a healthy work-life balance among government employees.

Beyond the exercise, the activity served as an opportunity to strengthen fellowship and collaboration among KCAST personnel and their counterparts in the Municipal Government of Kapalong. A healthy workforce is a stronger workforce, and together, we move toward a healthier, happier, and more productive Kapalong.

HOLIDAY ADVISORY||

The Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST) informs all students, faculty, and employees that August 21, 2026 (Friday) is Ninoy Aquino Day, a Special (Non-Working) Day, pursuant to Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025.

Accordingly:

* No office operations and no classes on August 21, 2026 (Friday).

* Classes will resume on August 22, 2026 (Saturday) for students with scheduled Saturday classes.

* Regular office and administrative transactions will resume on August 24, 2026 (Monday).

Everyone is advised to take note of this schedule and make the necessary arrangements.

𝐊𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

Two faculty members from the Agriculture Department of Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST), Mr. Rowel N. Tizon and Mr. Nelson A. Sagsagat, participated in the Training on Cropping Calendar, Crop Advisory Generation and Drought Risk Mapping Workshop conducted on August 4–7, 2026 at the PCA-CEDC, Bago Oshiro, Davao City.

The four-day training was organized under Project SARAI (Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines) through the SARAI Centralized National Hub for Regional Operations, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Davao Region and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). The activity equipped participants with practical and participatory skills in developing farmer-centered, location-specific crop advisories, interpreting weather and climate information, preparing cropping calendars, and generating municipality-level drought risk maps using geospatial and climate datasets.

Through their participation, Mr. Tizon and Mr. Sagsagat gained valuable knowledge and technical competencies that can be translated into instruction, research, extension, and community-based agricultural interventions. Their participation underscores KCAST's commitment to continuously strengthening the capacities of its agriculture faculty and advancing data-driven, climate-smart, and resilient agricultural practices. As an institution dedicated to agricultural development, KCAST remains committed to transforming professional learning into meaningful innovations and services for farmers and communities.

𝐊𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐊 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐢’𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬

Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology (KCAST) extends its sincere gratitude to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Maniki, under the leadership of Hon. Helen Mae I. Discaya, for the generous donation of six (6) durable plastic trash bins to the College on August 7, 2026. Hon. Discaya, who also serves as the Provincial SK Federation President of Davao del Norte, continues to demonstrate the meaningful role of youth leadership in supporting educational institutions and community development.

Joining Hon. Discaya were the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Maniki, whose presence reflected their collective commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and supporting initiatives that contribute to a clean and sustainable learning environment. The donation was formally received by Dr. Rodrigo C. Licayan, Jr., College President; Mr. Ronel Geraldizo Dagohoy, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Ms. Rustica A. Bactol, Head of the Physical Plant and Facilities Maintenance Unit.

KCAST deeply appreciates the generosity and partnership of the SK Maniki. More than the material contribution, the donation represents a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, campus cleanliness, and responsible citizenship. KCAST looks forward to sustaining this partnership with the youth leaders of Barangay Maniki as we work together toward a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable community.
