The College of Computing Studies (CCS) urges all students, faculty, and personnel to remain alert and vigilant as haze continues to affect parts of Mindanao.
Recent assessments of air quality and governmental notifications reveal that haze linked to smoke and fine particulate matter from persistent fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, has been carried toward the Philippines by prevailing winds, notably the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). Multiple areas in Mindanao have documented air quality levels ranging from unhealthy to acutely unhealthy, leading officials to urge heightened safety measures.
Under Alert No. 3, all individuals are urged to regard the situation seriously, reduce unwarranted exposure to contaminated air, and remain informed via credible notifications.

โข ๐ท Wear a well-fitting mask when going outdoors.
โข ๐ Limit prolonged and strenuous outdoor activities and stay indoors whenever possible.

โข ๐ Exercise extra caution when travelling, as haze may reduce visibility. Use headlights when necessary and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
โข โค๏ธ Give extra attention to children, older adults, and individuals with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
