History
Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No. 31 was named after the first President of the Republic of the Philippines, Bro. Emilio Aguinaldo. Founded in 1914, Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No. 31 was originally named Magdalo Lodge No. 371, when it was still under the Grande Oriente Español. Magdalo was derived from the name of the patron saint of Kawit, Cavite, Santa Maria Magdalena and also a symbolic name of Bro. Emilio Aguinaldo in the Katipunan. Charter members of Magdalo Lodge were the following: Bro. Emilio Aguinaldo, Bro. Felix Cajulis, Bro. Canuto Encarnacion, Bro. Servillano P. Herrera, Bro. Pelagio Ignacio, Bro. Benedicti Ilano, Bro. Silvestre Legaspi, Bro. Vicente Marquez, Bro. Severino Palugod, Bro. Daniel Sambong, and Bro. Lope Sayo under the auspices of the Grande Oriente Español whom are all members of Pilar Lodge No. 203 (now Pilar Lodge No. 15) residing in Kawit, Cavite.
In 1917, Magdalo Lodge no. 371 and several other lodges of the Regional Grand Lodge of the Philippines of the Grande Oriente Español were re-chartered and re-numbered when they affiliated with the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. It was renamed as Magdalo Lodge No. 31 and was later called Ibarra Lodge No.31. After Bro. Emilio Aguinaldo's death, it was renamed Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No. 31 in his honor.
