The NSTP Session on Peace and Peace Education reminded us that as students and future leaders, we have a role in building communities where everyone feels heard, valued, and respected. Through education, we learn that peace is not simply taught, but practiced through our words, choices, and actions.

The session was made more meaningful through the insightful sharing and discussions led by our speakers, Mr. Lester Tugade, MAT, and Ma’am Leofer F. Roxas, LPT, MIE, who shared valuable lessons on peace and peace education.

Students actively participated throughout the session, promoting teamwork and oneness as they illustrated different dimensions of peace. May these lessons inspire everyone to become active builders of peace in homes, schools, and communities.

As we come together for our NSTP session on August 15, 2026, at the NDMU Gymnasium, we are pleased to welcome our distinguished resource speakers, Mr. Lester Ignacio Tugade, and Ms. Leofer Fernando.

They will be sharing their knowledge and insights on Peace and Peace Education, helping us understand the importance of peace in our daily lives and communities.

The 3rd NSTP Session brought meaningful conversations on Drug and Health Education and Gender Education, providing students with knowledge that encourages healthier choices, greater awareness, and deeper respect for others.

Through the insightful discussions led by Mr. John Michael P. Fusingan and Mr. Dexter E. Templonuevo, students were reminded that education is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about understanding the choices, responsibilities, and values that shape everyday life.

May these lessons continue to guide students in making responsible decisions, standing for respect and equality, and becoming individuals who contribute positively to the community.

NDMU participants celebrated the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' (ASEAN) 59th Founding Anniversary with the theme β€œNavigating Our Future, Together,” alongside different colleges in SOCCSKSARGEN at KCC Mall of Marbel.

As part of the event, Team Brunei held a short session in the ASEAN Culture and Crafts Workshop about how different geometrical patterns and shapes hold different meanings. NDMU participants Michaela Diones, Jeremy Amar, and Gabbryl Xakiery Anad showcased their artistic skills and expressions through painting their own meaningful patterns of ASEAN’s rich cultural diversity.

Highlights for the National Service Training Program (NSTP) last August 1, 2026, at the NDMU Gymnasium.
Words of Ma’am Pollyn Joy M. Alfonga encouraged the students under higher education to initiate an active and nurtured community.

Reminders from Sir Charles Dominic F. Ortigosa said to always check up on ourselves if we’re still feeling okay. As students, we immerse ourselves in our education, but sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to take a step back and ask yourself this question: β€œAm I still okay?”

This tells us that leadership begins with action and is not limited to those who are appointed to be leadersβ€”but it starts with those who step forward and take the responsibility. This session challenged the students to become catalysts for change and reminded us that our well-being is also important.

NSTP lecture is in progress as students engage in a discussion on "Future in Mind: Strengthening Mental Wellness for Sustainable Growth and Youth Mental Health," led by Sr. Charles Dominic Fresco Ortigosa, RPm.

He reminds students that mental health is an important part of everyday life. Through the discussion, participants are encouraged to check in with themselves, support one another, and understand that taking care of their well-being is just as important as serving their community.

As the NSTP journey begins, may this session encourage every student to become not only active volunteers but also individuals who value their own mental wellness and the well-being of others.
