Supreme Student Council (SSC) Joins Tree Planting for a Greener Future

The SSC joins the Tree Planting Program organized by URC SURE—La Carlota at People's Park, June 18, 2026.

Together with several student organizations of La Carlota City College, led by Prof. Laurence Lachica, Head of Office of Students Affairs and Services, and supported by various sectors of the LGU, the SSC takes part in this meaningful initiative.

The program aims to promote environmental sustainability and awareness by planting trees that will benefit the future generations. More than just planting, it represents a shared commitment to protect our environment, strengthening partnerships, and inspiring the youth to take roles in environmental stewardship.

Today we wave our flags high as we remember June 12, 1898 — the day freedom was declared, chains of colonial rule broken, and the day the Filipino spirit soared like an eagle. That day was a story of courage, sacrifice, and unity written by our heroes who believed that independence was worth every struggle and sacrifice. That's why today we celebrate the shared triumph of a nation that chose to stand tall, proud, and free.

But wait, do you know that independence is not just history? It is a challenge we face every day. True freedom is not about breaking away from foreign colonization, but it's also about liberating ourselves from ignorance and division. The revolution in the past continues in today's classrooms, communities, and hearts. It reminds us that a fight for a stronger PHILIPPINES is still unfolding and we are the heroes writing the next chapter.
