The 1st Significance Rite of Samahang Statistika was successfully held on April 25, 2026 at CASAN Quadrangle in Benguet State University to honor the perseverance and commitment of Statistics students, particularly the fourth-year batch. The program opened with a doxology, followed by remarks recognizing the resilience of the graduating students by the Officer-in-Charge Chairperson, Ms. Marycel Sajise. Intermission performances from various year levels added vibrance to the event, while an inspirational message by Mr. Dexter Samidan reflected on the doubts faced by students and emphasized the significance of Statistics in representing real individuals and communities. A testimonial from the top fourth-year student, Ms. Fiona Salazar, highlighted the batch’s journey and growth.
A solemn candle-lighting ceremony symbolized the transfer of knowledge across year levels, followed by the Oath of Professional Ethics, administered by Mr. Conley Celoy, Vice President of the organization, affirming the students’ commitment to competence, integrity, and responsibility. An inspirational address from the College Dean, Dr. Ederson Bawang, about embodying resilience, like a persisting, surviving goldfish left in an office until making its presence known. He iterated this in a saying “Just keep splashing.” The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Han Bonoy, the adviser of the Samahang Statistika, expressing gratitude and synthesizing the day’s key messages.
In the afternoon, the 4PSS program served as a farewell tribute to the fourth-year students. It featured student introductions with their personal reflections, followed by acknowledging of exemplary organization members who represented SS in various competitions and demonstrated diverse skills and talents. Then, interactive games were facilitated by different year levels that fostered camaraderie and engagement.
Thereafter, Ms. Fiona Garcia, SS President, formally presented incoming officers and the symbolic turnover ceremony highlighted the transition of leadership, with messages emphasizing responsibility and commitment. The fourth-year students also shared words of guidance, encouraging unity, perseverance, and practical strategies for academic success. The event concluded with messages from Ms. Freda Samuel, Associate Dean and College Secretary, congratulating and encouraging both graduating and continuing students.
