January 12 | In celebration of Benguet State University’s 40th Charter Day with the theme “Shaping minds, transforming communities, and sustaining futures,” the College of Information Sciences (CIS) officially launched an exhibit highlighting the college’s significant milestones, achievements, and awards throughout the years.

The event also features departmental showcases, where each program presents the unique strengths of its degree offerings and demonstrates how enrolling in CIS programs can equip students with relevant skills and opportunities for academic and professional success.

The College of Information Sciences warmly welcomes students and guests to explore the exhibit and join in celebrating years of excellence, innovation, and service!

The 𝗕𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 is launched to find the best digital rendition of the BSU Slogan: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀

ELIGIBILITY
-The challenge is open to all BSU students and alumni

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
-The logo must be original, seamless, and not infringe any existing copyrights
-Must visually represent and coherently incorporate the FULL TEXT of the BSU Slogan
-The design must be scalable (works in small and large sizes) and versatile (print, digital, monochrome). Consider that the design will be placed on vehicles and other BSU properties, letterheads, and digital or printed publications
-Each design must be accompanied by a 150-word description/explanation
-The dominant colors must be BSU’s official colors: Green (20650A) and yellow (F0D411)
-Icons in the BSU logo may be used as follows:
A lamp with a flame and an open book representing INSTRUCTION
Silhouette of two groups of people and indigenous huts representing EXTENSION
A microscope against a computer monitor representing RESEARCH
Cog/gears, a stylized agricultural land, a pine tree representing PRODUCTION
Other icons, elements, and colors used must be thoroughly explained
-You may refer to the BSU Brand Security and Social Media Policy https://surl.li/vmsjem (Page 6) for a detailed description of the BSU Logo

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
-Design must be high resolution in JPEG or PNG format (minimum 300 dpi)
-Maximum file size is 10MB

JUDGING CRITERIA
-Relevance to the BSU Slogan
-Creativity and originality
-Aesthetic appeal
-Versatility
-Symbolic Clarity

PRIZE AND RECOGNITION
-The winning designer will receive Php 5,000.00, a Certificate of Recognition, and some BSU merch
-Official adoption of the logo by BSU

OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS
-The winning entry will remain the intellectual property of the designer, however BSU may request minimal revisions for branding purposes if needed

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 | The College of Information Sciences officially kicked off the semester with a meaningful extension activity!

Answering the call of the Municipality of Tublay through its Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation (SKF), the college shared expertise on Digital Safety and Literacy Awareness.

Held at the Municipal Hall, Acop, Caponga, Tublay, the activity aimed to equip the youth with essential competencies to navigate the digital landscape responsibly.

The morning session focused on digital literacy and online safety, while the afternoon session emphasized media and information literacy alongside the cultivation of critical thinking in digital spaces.

The program wrapped up with a united pledge from the participants:
“𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬, 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵.”
