Benguet State University College of Agriculture celebrated its week-long 42nd Foundation Anniversary from May 11โ14, 2026, with the theme, โCollege of Agriculture: Harnessing Agricultural Research and Vibrant Extension Services Towards Transformation of Societies.โ Originally observed on May 16, the college celebrated this yearโs foundation anniversary earlier in the week, since May 16, 2026, fell on a Saturday.
The celebration officially opened on May 11, 2026, during the University Flag Ceremony hosted by the college. The flag-raising ceremony featured an Agricultural Trivia Guessing Game that actively engaged the audience and shared interesting facts about agriculture.
The culminating ceremonies on May 14, 2026, became a highlight of the celebration. During the morning program, College Dean Constantino T. Sudaypan expressed his gratitude to everyone who joined the celebration, especially the partner institutions that accepted the collegeโs invitation.
Inspirational messages were delivered by University President Kenneth A. Laruan and Vice President for Academic Affairs Janet P. Pablo. In their messages, they congratulated the CA on its successful foundation anniversary and recognized the dedication of the faculty, staff, students, and partner institutions in advancing agricultural education.
During the program, the college expressed its gratitude to the partner institutions that supported the fourth-year studentsโ internship program by awarding mentors with certificates and tokens of appreciation. Their continued collaboration has significantly enhanced studentsโ practical learning experiences and professional development.
In the afternoon of May 14, the Recognition of Academic Achievers and Yearโs Best Student Recognition Program was held, during which student achievers and the โYearโs Bestโ awardies were formally recognized for their outstanding academic performance, leadership, and contributions to the college. The College Dean, Constantinto T. Sudaypan, together with each department Chairperson, awarded the yearโs best in their respective departments. Academic Achiever Geraldine D. de Aro expressed her gratitude for the award, citing that being an academic achiever is both an honor and a responsibility.
The celebration concluded with the Agriculture Licensure Examination 2025 Passers Thanksgiving Ceremony. Associate Dean and College Secretary Madeline S. Kingan lauded this yearโs passers for their exemplary performance, which earned the university its 7th overall ranking.
Representatives from different departments shared their personal experiences and insights during their preparation for the licensure examination. The newly licensed agriculturists shared their review experiences, preparation strategies, and words of encouragement with the collegeโs graduating students.
Overall, the 42nd Foundation Anniversary of the College of Agriculture served not only as a celebration of the collegeโs achievements and milestones, but also as a commitment to academic excellence, agricultural innovation, and meaningful community engagement.
