The name of the organization shall be known as the College of Agriculture Student Government with the acronym of CA-SG. Benguet State University College of Agriculture celebrated its week-long 42nd Foundation Anniversary from May 11โ€“14, 2026, with the theme, โ€œCollege of Agriculture: Harnessing Agricultural Research and Vibrant Extension Services Towards Transformation of Societies.โ€ Originally observed on May 16, the college celebrated this yearโ€™s foundation anniversary earlier in the week, since May 16, 2026, fell on a Saturday.

The celebration officially opened on May 11, 2026, during the University Flag Ceremony hosted by the college. The flag-raising ceremony featured an Agricultural Trivia Guessing Game that actively engaged the audience and shared interesting facts about agriculture.

The culminating ceremonies on May 14, 2026, became a highlight of the celebration. During the morning program, College Dean Constantino T. Sudaypan expressed his gratitude to everyone who joined the celebration, especially the partner institutions that accepted the collegeโ€™s invitation.

Inspirational messages were delivered by University President Kenneth A. Laruan and Vice President for Academic Affairs Janet P. Pablo. In their messages, they congratulated the CA on its successful foundation anniversary and recognized the dedication of the faculty, staff, students, and partner institutions in advancing agricultural education.

During the program, the college expressed its gratitude to the partner institutions that supported the fourth-year studentsโ€™ internship program by awarding mentors with certificates and tokens of appreciation. Their continued collaboration has significantly enhanced studentsโ€™ practical learning experiences and professional development.

In the afternoon of May 14, the Recognition of Academic Achievers and Yearโ€™s Best Student Recognition Program was held, during which student achievers and the โ€œYearโ€™s Bestโ€ awardies were formally recognized for their outstanding academic performance, leadership, and contributions to the college. The College Dean, Constantinto T. Sudaypan, together with each department Chairperson, awarded the yearโ€™s best in their respective departments. Academic Achiever Geraldine D. de Aro expressed her gratitude for the award, citing that being an academic achiever is both an honor and a responsibility.

The celebration concluded with the Agriculture Licensure Examination 2025 Passers Thanksgiving Ceremony. Associate Dean and College Secretary Madeline S. Kingan lauded this yearโ€™s passers for their exemplary performance, which earned the university its 7th overall ranking.

Representatives from different departments shared their personal experiences and insights during their preparation for the licensure examination. The newly licensed agriculturists shared their review experiences, preparation strategies, and words of encouragement with the collegeโ€™s graduating students.

Overall, the 42nd Foundation Anniversary of the College of Agriculture served not only as a celebration of the collegeโ€™s achievements and milestones, but also as a commitment to academic excellence, agricultural innovation, and meaningful community engagement.

The College of Agriculture (CA) held its Student Research Congress on May 18, 2026, providing a platform for students to showcase their research outputs.

CA Dean Constantino T. Sudaypan formally opened the congress with his welcome remarks, lauding the student presenters for their active participation in this yearโ€™s Research Congress. Advanced Studies Coordinator Mary Arnel D. Garcia introduced the esteemed panel members, while Research Coordinator Jessica L. Rivera presented the mechanics of the research congress.

Following the opening program, the research congress officially commenced with the undergraduate category held in Room AC 315 and the graduate category in Room AC 303.

The research congress featured presentations of studies from various categories. The undergraduate category included S&T AANR, Social AANR, and Social Non-AANR, with panelists Lita M. Colting, Dominga P. Magnanang, and Paul Joseph A. Nuval. A total of 16 research presentations were presented under the undergraduate category.

Meanwhile, the graduate category featured five presentations, including three under the S&T category and one each for the Social AANR and Social Non-AANR categories. The panel members for the graduate category included Erlinda B. Alupias, Teresita K. Mangili, and Leopoldo N. Tagarino.

Throughout the congress, student researchers presented their findings that addressed issues and opportunities in agriculture, agribusiness, rural development, and related fields. The panel members provided valuable insights, recommendations, and constructive feedback to further strengthen the quality and relevance of the students' research.

The activity concluded with the recognition of the best papers and the announcement of participants who will represent the College of Agriculture at the University Student Research Congress, which will commence on June 3-4, 2026.

Department of Extension Education Chairperson, Maricel V. Dacnes delivered the closing remarks, commending the student researchers for successfully presenting their studies and sharing their contributions to the advancement of knowledge in agriculture and related fields. She encouraged participants to continue pursuing research and innovation to address emerging agricultural challenges and opportunities.//
