KCP x TEAM LAKAY: ANOTHER SESSION OF STRENGTH, DISCIPLINE, AND GROWTH
On September 18, 2026, King’s College of the Philippines officially kicked off its Sports Development Program for Academic Year 2026–2027 with the resumption of its Free Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Training, continuing its strong partnership with Team Lakay.

The opening session was made even more meaningful with the presence of Mr. Marquez “Mark” Sangiao, Founder and Head Coach of Team Lakay, who once again joined and facilitated the training. His presence inspired participants as they began another year of developing their fitness, discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and MMA skills.

The training sessions will be led by Coach Nahue Gandolfi "El Roble", who will guide participants through MMA fundamentals, physical conditioning, proper techniques, and disciplined training.

The Free MMA Training is held every Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ebenezer Gymnasium, providing KCP students with the opportunity to stay active, develop new skills, and experience quality martial arts training under experienced coaches.

Through its continuing partnership with Team Lakay, KCP strengthens its commitment to the holistic development of students through sports—building not only physical strength but also the values of discipline, perseverance, respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Another session, another step toward becoming stronger, more disciplined, and more confident.

MOA SIGNING FOR THE MAINPI MANNA PACK AND ADOPT-A-COMMUNITY FEEDING PROGRAM
KCP S.H.A.R.E.S. – Mangan Tako Initiative

King’s College of the Philippines (KCP), through its KCP S.H.A.R.E.S. Program, is strengthening its commitment to community service through the Mangan Tako Feeding Program and its Adopt-a-Community Initiative.

As part of this advocacy, KCP will enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the outsourcing and provision of nutritious food packs, known as the Manna Pack, to support the feeding and community outreach activities of KCP.

One of the communities to be served under this initiative is Sitio Cuba, Barangay Cuba, Kapangan, Benguet, as part of KCP's Adopt-a-Community Program.

The Manna Pack will provide nutritious and carefully prepared food packages intended to support the nutritional needs of community beneficiaries while promoting the spirit of sharing, volunteerism, compassion, and community partnership.

Through this partnership, KCP hopes to:
provide nutritious food assistance to identified community beneficiaries;
strengthen KCP's Adopt-a-Community advocacy;
encourage volunteerism and social responsibility among the KCP community;
build sustainable partnerships with food providers and community organizations; and
demonstrate KCP's commitment to its mission of serving communities through meaningful and transformative initiatives.

KCP S.H.A.R.E.S. continues to embody the spirit of “Love God, Lead the Nation, and Light the World” by turning compassion into concrete action—one meal, one community, and one act of love at a time.

KCP Psychology Student Leaders Join Benguet World Su***de Prevention Day Celebration

LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET — Six student leaders from the Psychology Department of King’s College of the Philippines (KCP) participated in the province-wide celebration of World Su***de Prevention Day on September 10, 2026, at the Benguet Sports Complex Gymnasium in Wangal, La Trinidad.
The event was organized by the Benguet Provincial Local Government Unit (LGU) in partnership with the Benguet Provincial Health Office (PHO) and gathered representatives from various government agencies and municipalities across the province to promote su***de prevention and mental health awareness.

The KCP delegation, from the College of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (CTELA), facilitated an interactive service booth aligned with the event’s theme, “Kalampagan para sa Ligtas na Kaisipan, Boses at Ingay ng Pag-asa: Isang Benguet na Nagkakaisa.”
The participation was initiated by CTELA Dean Dr. Dina Teresita P. Balaan and Psychology Coordinator Kaiza L. Caballero.

Representing the Psychology Department were Program-Based Officers Eunise Balorio, Mayor; Efren Christopher Sucte, Vice Mayor; and Vhon Eowyne Casilen, Secretary. They were joined by The Loquitor Editor-in-Chief Kinster Taligan, News Editor Fanelle Anne Wakit, and CTELA Governor Lourie Desiree Dela Cruz.

Other Psychology students and student leaders also provided on-site assistance during the event.

The KCP booth offered accessible mental health and su***de prevention information through brochures and interactive activities. These included Motivational Message Notes, the “Tree of Hope,” and the “Leave Your Mark” Fingerprint Board.

During the fingerprint activity, participants used teal and purple paint before placing their fingerprints on the board to symbolize their support for su***de prevention and mental health awareness.

“Our booth successfully promoted the KCP-Psychology advocacy for su***de prevention and mental health awareness,” said Eunise Balorio, Mayor of the Psychology Program-Based Officers.

Balorio said activities promoting mental health awareness are important in addressing misconceptions and stigma surrounding su***de and mental health.
“As KCPIANS, we aim to integrate all fields to help people realize that mental health and su***de are collective issues. Because we believe that no one can heal alone; it takes a supporting community,” she added.

The activity also provided KCP Psychology students with an opportunity to engage with community members and contribute to a provincial initiative focused on mental health and su***de prevention.
KCP’s participation forms part of the institution’s community engagement efforts and its partnership with local government agencies in promoting public health and community well-being.
