IN RETROSPECT | Preparedness must be practiced before an emergency happens.

On July 19, 2026, Southern Peninsula College brought students, faculty members, and staff together for a school-wide earthquake and fire drill at the SPENC Multi-Purpose Covered Court.

With guidance from MDRRMO Labason and BFP Labason, participants practiced emergency procedures and learned about disaster risk reduction, fire safety, evacuation, and coordinated response.

The activity reminded our school community that safety is a shared responsibility. Awareness becomes more valuable when people know how to act during critical situations.

We thank Mdrrmo Labason, headed by Shannaleigh G. Bugarin-Laurencio, RN, and the BFP R9 Labason Fire Station under FINSP Joel S. Sabijon, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, for organizing the annual activity.
