Northwestern University commemorates the 165th Birth Anniversary of G*t Jose P. Rizal.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of our national hero whose ideals of patriotism, education, and love for country continue to inspire generations of Filipinos. Through his writings and unwavering pursuit of reform, Rizal reminded us that knowledge is a powerful force for nation-building.

The honorific "G*t," short for "G*tdula," was once used for members of the Filipino nobility. Today, it is placed before Rizal's name as a mark of respect, recognizing his enduring legacy and stature as one of the nation's greatest heroes.

As we celebrate his 165th birth anniversary, may we continue to embody the values of integrity, excellence, and service in our pursuit of a brighter future.
