COBESO is in action!

Our organization recently participated in Pinili, Ilocos Norte, where our students played an active role in facilitating the NWU survey. This fieldwork is a clear reflection of the student leadership and "activeness" that defines our college.

This project was organized by the NWU CCSD Department and fueled by the energy of our students, who stepped up to engage with the local community firsthand. Their dedication highlights how our members are growing into proactive leaders who aren't afraid to get involved in real-world research.

We also want to highlight the invaluable support of our faculty advisors. Their guidance allowed our student-led teams to navigate the survey with confidence and professional excellence. It’s the perfect blend of student passion and faculty mentorship! 🤝✨

Northwestern University College of Business Education proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its students in the CHRA Assessment Examination – Batch 69, administered by the Human Resource Educators’ Association of the Philippines (HREAP) in partnership with the Philippine HR Institute (PHRI).

Demonstrating academic excellence on a national level, three NWU examinees secured spots in the Top 10: Clarence P. Coloma (Rank 5, 94.00), Athena Maezelle Torres Ampania (Rank 9, 92.50), and Royal Jhatte Pascua (Rank 10, 92.25).

Equally commendable are Rheena Joy Garaña and Dhynalyne Garaña for successfully passing the examination, contributing to the university’s strong performance.

With an overall national passing rate of 81.08%, the CHRA examination reflects rigorous standards in human resource competency. Northwestern University’s achievement highlights its commitment to producing highly skilled, industry-ready HR professionals.

This success stands as a testament to the dedication of the students, the guidance of faculty, and the institution’s continuous pursuit of academic and professional excellence.

7th Northern Philippines Business Research Conference Set to Gather Scholars and Innovators at PUP Manila

The 7th Northern Philippines Business Research Conference (NPBRC) is set to take place on April 16–17, 2026 at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Sta. Mesa, Manila, bringing together researchers, educators, industry practitioners, and students for a two-day academic gathering centered on innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.

With the theme, “Reimagining Business Futures: Innovation, Sustainability, and Digital Transformation,” this year’s conference underscores the growing importance of research-driven solutions in navigating the evolving landscape of business and society. The conference serves as a platform for presenting scholarly work, exchanging ideas, and strengthening collaboration among institutions committed to academic excellence and business innovation.

A major highlight of the event is the keynote address of Dr. Kyra Sin Kit Yeng of Sunway University, Malaysia. She will deliver a thought-provoking presentation titled, “From Linear to Circular: Rethinking Business Models for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.” Her talk is expected to provide fresh perspectives on how organizations can move beyond traditional business models and embrace circular, sustainable, and socially responsive approaches in today’s interconnected world.

The conference will also feature a distinguished roster of plenary speakers from government, academe, and industry. Dr. Jean Paolo Lacap, City Government Administrator of Angeles, Pampanga, will speak on “Key Strategies to Manage the Demand of Writing a Research.” His session is expected to offer practical insights for faculty members, researchers, and students navigating the challenges of academic writing and research productivity.

Joining him is Dr. Emmanuel Dotong, PhD, CMI, MBDF, FBE, Associate Professor from the Jose Rizal University, whose presentation is titled “Literature Review: Using AI Tools in Research.” His discussion is especially timely as artificial intelligence continues to reshape research processes, enabling scholars to improve efficiency, synthesis, and analysis while also raising important questions on ethics and responsible use.

Completing the plenary lineup is Mr. Lucrecio Delgado of the Innovation Hub Foundation, who will present “Design Thinking, Creativity, and Innovation Management.” His talk is expected to inspire participants to adopt a more innovative and human-centered mindset in solving business and organizational challenges.

The 7th NPBRC reflects a continuing commitment to fostering a strong research culture in the Northern Philippines and beyond. More than just a conference, it is a venue for intellectual exchange, professional development, and institutional collaboration.
