The Unit extends its warmest congratulations to Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) for the successful conduct of the Mactan Airport Crash and Rescue Exercise.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important exercise, which provided our members with valuable experience in emergency response, coordination, and airport safety.

Our team was led by our very own Adviser, Ms. Domecq Airreil Macaraya together with our dedicated members who actively participated in the exercise.

On September 12, 2026, Wave 11 and the members of IDRRMU took part in a meaningful session on Personal Development and the Traits of a Responder, facilitated by Dr. Christian Emmanuel P. Enriquez.

Through engaging games, thought-provoking challenges, and meaningful activities, the participants were encouraged to look beyond their personal perspectives, reflect on their choices, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the realities of life.

More than learning the attitudes and qualities of an effective responder, the session invited everyone to look within—to recognize that being a responder is not only about responding to emergencies, but also about having the courage to face life’s challenges, the humility to keep learning, and the heart to serve others.

By the end of the session, everyone took home more than memories. We gained new perspectives, meaningful realizations, and a deeper appreciation of what it truly means to be a responder.

Because true service does not begin with what we do—it begins with who we choose to become.

𝑫𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝑫𝒆𝒌𝒂𝒅𝒂: 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐎𝐧, 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐧!

As we kicked off our IDR Games in celebration of the IDRRMU’s upcoming 10th Anniversary, three teams, Team Dinominator University, Team DecaUno, and Team Best Of Game Obviously stepped onto the court and went head-to-head in an exciting pickleball match last September 11, 2026. After a fun and competitive game filled with rallies, cheers, and a little friendly rivalry, Team Best Of Game Obviously took home the win.

But the fun didn’t stop there. The court stayed alive as we opened it for an Open Play, bringing together IDRRMU members, participants, and our alumni for a night of games, laughter, and good vibes. It was a chance to get moving, catch up with familiar faces, meet new ones, and simply enjoy the moment together.

From exciting rallies and unexpected plays to loud cheers and funny moments on the court, the night was filled with the kind of memories that make simple gatherings worth remembering. Sometimes, it’s not about who wins the game it’s about the people you play with, the laughs you share, and the moments you take home.

To more games, more laughs, louder cheers, and more memories as we continue the countdown to a decade of service, friendship, and camaraderie.

On August 28, 2026, the IAU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit (IDRRMU) conducted a briefing for the Wave 11 recruits, providing them with an overview of their upcoming training, responsibilities, and expectations.

The briefing began with opening remarks from our Adviser, Miss Domecq Airreil L. Macaraya, followed by a discussion led by our Finance and Administration Head on the necessary requirements and training guidelines.

The session concluded with closing remarks from our Vice Chairperson, Jhaye Chariz Romero, leaving the recruits with valuable reminders and a better understanding of what lies ahead as they begin their training journey with IDRRMU.

A new wave, a new journey, and another opportunity to learn, serve, and grow. Here’s to Wave 11!
