In pursuit of fostering mental health awareness and student well-being, Ms. Charlyn E. Miguel, University Guidance Coordinator, together with Ms. Roxanne S. Arugay, Guidance Counselor of CSU Piat, visited the Cagayan State UniversityโLasam Campus today, October 29, to extend support to the Counseling and Career Services Office (CCSO) and the Peer Facilitators Club (PFC) in their ongoing initiatives toward mental wellness.
Anchored on CSUโs advocacy for holistic student development, the visit also aimed to strengthen inter-campus collaboration and reinforce the shared commitment of the universityโs guidance offices in advancing mental health programs and services.
During the visit, the officials had the opportunity to engage with PFC members, learning about their initiatives, roles, and programs that promote student support and mental wellness within the campus.
Ms. Arugay took the opportunity to benchmark the documents and activities of the organization, gaining insights into CSU Lasamโs best practices in facilitating peer support and guidance programs as she wishes to also have their own PFC at CSU Piat.
Meanwhile, Ms. Miguel extended her support by donating a printer, a laptop, and various school and office supplies to the campus CCSO, which was followed by distribution of tokens to the PFC members.
Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Ronabelle Ramil, Campus Guidance Counselor and PFC Adviser, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support and encouragement shown by the University Guidance Office.
"The printer, laptop, office, and school supplies were not just gifts and donations but are inspirations and fuels to propel us to serve more and do more for the whole student body of CSU Lasam, especially in upholding and advocating mental wellness for all," Dr. Ramil stated.
In addition, Kristine Kaye Balagtas, PFC President, shared her appreciation for the support extended to their organization and for the continued trust in their capability to promote mental health advocacy among students.
"I promise that we will use these things properly to help our Nanay RB sa pag-facilitate at pag-assist pa sa mga clients or students natin sa mga scheduled activities po ng CCSO," she said.
