NDSC Strengthens Disaster Preparedness Through NSED 2026
POBLACION I, LEBAK, SULTAN KUDARAT, June 18, 2026 — In line with the government's disaster preparedness program, Notre Dame of Salaman College (NDSC) successfully conducted the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at 9:00 A.M., involving students from the High School and College Departments, together with administrators, faculty members, and staff.
The activity was spearheaded by School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Officer Mr. Rodrigo Nawal Jr., who ensured the proper implementation of earthquake response procedures. Upon the sounding of the emergency signal, participants immediately performed the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique before proceeding safely and orderly to their designated evacuation areas.
The drill aimed to strengthen the preparedness and responsiveness of the NDSC community in the event of earthquakes and other emergencies. It also served as an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the institution’s emergency protocols, evacuation plans, and coordination mechanisms.
The successful conduct of the NSED reflects NDSC’s unwavering commitment to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience. Through activities such as this, the institution continues to equip its students and personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively during emergencies and disasters.
