The Alumni Relations Office would like to congratulate Domingo C. Cañeta Jr., alumnus of Bicol University College of Industrial Technology, for ranking Top 1 in the August 2026 Certified Plant Mechanics Computer-Based Licensure Examination with a rating of 86.50%.

In addition, Bicol University is proud to announce that it produced eight (8) newly licensed BUeño Mechanical Engineers and one (1) Certified Plant Mechanic, achieving a 32% passing rate in the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination and a perfect 100% passing rate in the Certified Plant Mechanics Computer-Based Licensure Examination.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reported that 1,362 out of 3,686 examinees (36.95%) passed the Mechanical Engineers Licensure Examination, while 109 out of 142 examinees (76.76%) passed the Certified Plant Mechanics Computer-Based Licensure Examination.

The Alumni Relations Office extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Joe-Bren Consuelo, a graduate of the BUCE Class of 2009 with the Most Outstanding Graduate award and former Editor-in-Chief of the Mentor, on his well-deserved appointment as Director II of the Teacher Education Council (TEC).

This significant achievement reflects his outstanding leadership, deep expertise, and steadfast commitment to advancing teacher education. We are confident that his vision and dedication will greatly contribute to the continued growth and excellence of the Council.

The Bicol University Alumni Relations Office proudly congratulates Dr. Robert Llantero Loquinallo, a Bicol University alumnus and a Bicolano Microbiologist whose products feed families across Africa and beyond.

Dr. Robert Llantero Loquinallo, who was once reported to work in the Manila Laboratory, in his desire to support his younger siblings through school, is now a plant operation manager and head of research and development in the food manufacturing industry in West Africa, where he has developed fortified products and built laboratories across the Gulf and Africa over a 22-year career abroad.

Your remarkable achievement makes the entire Bicol University community and the Bicolanos proud. You truly are an inspiration to future generations of leaders and innovators! 🧡💙

On June 21, 2026, Bicol University proudly celebrated its 57th Charter Day and General Alumni Homecoming in partnership with the BU Alumni Relations Office (BU ARO) and BU General Alumni Association Inc. (BUGAAI). The event was successfully held at the BUCENG Gymnasium, Bicol University College of Engineering, Legazpi City, Albay.

Guided by this year’s theme,�“𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐁𝐔 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢, 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲,” 🤝🌍❤️�the celebration brought together BU alumni from different generations to reconnect, celebrate shared achievements, and strengthen the spirit of unity.

𝗔𝗥𝗢 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗕𝗨 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

On June 16, 2026, at the BUPC Gymnasium, the Bicol University Alumni Relations Office (ARO) successfully conducted its Campus Tour and Alumni Orientation for the graduating students of Bicol University Polangui Campus.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness among the graduating batch regarding the mandates and programs of the Alumni Relations Office, the significance of the Employability Survey, registration in the Alumni Registration and Information Management System (ARIMS), alumni roles and responsibilities, and membership in the Bicol University General Alumni Association, Inc. (BUGAAI).

The orientation was graced by Dr. Sixto O. Orzales, University Director of the Alumni Relations Office; Dr. Mary Joy B. Catangui, Dean of BUPC; Dr. Flordel S. Relucio, Associate Dean; Prof. Sunjay C. Gandia, MEntrep, College Alumni Coordinator; Prof. Jhonny Pet P. Topasi, LPT; guest alumni; and graduating students from the various degree programs of the campus. The ARO staff likewise provided technical assistance to ensure the smooth conduct of the activity.

More than an orientation, the Campus Tour served as an opportunity to inspire future alumni to remain actively connected with their alma mater and contribute to the continued growth and development of the Bicol University community. Adding excitement and engagement to the program were trivia games that tested participants' knowledge while fostering camaraderie and school spirit.

As these soon-to-be graduates prepare to embark on new journeys, may they carry with them the pride, values, and lifelong connection that come with being a Bicol University alumnus.

The 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑨𝑹𝑶) 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒍 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 recently conducted the 𝑨𝑹𝑶 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓 2026 across the different colleges and campuses of the university as part of its intensified campaign to strengthen alumni engagement and awareness among graduating students. The activity aimed to orient future alumni on the importance of the employability survey, introduce the 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 (𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑴𝑺), and 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒊𝒄𝒐𝒍 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑰𝒏𝒄. During the campus visits, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇. 𝑺𝒊𝒙𝒕𝒐 𝑶. 𝑶𝒓𝒛𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔, 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆, emphasized the significance of the employability survey and how alumni participation directly impacts the university’s accreditation efforts, world university rankings, program evaluation, and institutional planning. He also introduced Alumni Registration and Information Management System(ARIMS), a platform designed to strengthen the connection between the university and its graduates by providing an organized and accessible system for alumni registration, employability tracking, and engagement.

Meanwhile, 𝑩𝑼𝑮𝑨𝑨𝑰 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒙 𝑩. 𝑵𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒐, discussed the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of alumni as members of the university’s official alumni association. He encouraged graduating students to remain actively involved in university initiatives and to sustain their connection with their alma mater even after graduation.
To make the orientation more relatable and inspiring, alumni from each college or institute were invited to share their personal experiences, professional journeys, and reflections on how Bicol University shaped their lives and careers. Their testimonials served as reminders of the lasting bond between the university and its graduates.

Week 2 of the ARO Campus Tour further strengthened the connection between Bicol University and its future alumni as the Alumni Relations Office, together with BUGAAI, successfully visited 𝑩𝑼 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏, 𝑩𝑼𝑪𝑺𝑺𝑷, 𝑩𝑼𝑪𝑬𝑵𝑮, 𝑩𝑼𝑪𝑬, 𝑩𝑼𝑪𝑰𝑻, 𝑩𝑼𝑪𝑺, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝑼𝑮𝑪. The office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the deans, directors, college alumni coordinators, faculty members, staff, and graduating students for their warm welcome, active participation, and invaluable support. Your cooperation and enthusiasm continue to inspire the mission of building a stronger and more engaged Bicol University alumni community.
