𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 | Student Orientation

In view of the scheduled 2026 BU Graduate School Student Orientation, which will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. via Zoom, all graduate students are directed to attend. Program advisers and Graduate School faculty members are likewise encouraged to participate.

The orientation aims to provide graduate students with essential information on the policies, guidelines, academic requirements, programs, services, and other important matters of the Graduate School. It also seeks to help students better understand their responsibilities and available support as they pursue their respective graduate programs, thereby promoting a smooth, informed, and meaningful graduate school experience. The Zoom link and other necessary details shall be provided by the Graduate School.

Classes affected by the orientation shall be rescheduled through make-up classes, with the schedule to be mutually agreed upon by the faculty member and the students and subject to the approval of the concerned authority. Make-up classes may be conducted onsite (face-to-face) or online, either synchronously or asynchronously, depending on the modality agreed upon by both parties.

An accomplishment report shall be submitted in accordance with the requirements applicable to the modality used.

Bicol University joins the nation in commemorating Ninoy Aquino Day today, August 21, 2026.

DID YOU KNOW? Ninoy Aquino Day was officially established through Republic Act No. 9256, approved on February 25, 2004, during the administration of then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The law declared August 21 of every year as Ninoy Aquino Day, a national non-working holiday, in commemoration of the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Jr.

Let us honor the courage, patriotism, and legacy of Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

Regular office operations will resume on Monday, August 24, 2026.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS | The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V has announced the extended schedule of applications for the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) for Batches 4 and 5.

Please take note of the following application deadlines:

SIKAP-R (Regular/Plantilla) & SIKAP-N (Non-regular/Non-plantilla)
Batch 4 Deadline: September 7, 2026
Batch 5 Deadline: October 5, 2026

SIKAP-L (Legal Education)
Batch 4 Deadline: August 31, 2026
Batch 5 Deadline: October 23, 2026

𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐈 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫

Bicol University (BU) was recognized as an academic partner from Albay of Project SARAI (Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines) during the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week held today, August 19, 2026 at the University of Camarines Norte Covered Court.

The recognition honors partner institutions whose collaboration has helped strengthen the implementation and reach of Project SARAI. The award was received by BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III, representing the university during the ceremony.
