Today, we celebrate the animals in shelters who continue to hold on to hope for a second chance, a safe space, and a family to call their own.

Behind every rescue is a story of survival. Many have experienced neglect, abandonment, and hardship, yet they remain gentle, loving, and ready to trust again.
As a community, we can help turn their waiting into belonging. Adopt, foster, or simply share their stories, because even the smallest act can bring them closer to a home.

Give them the love they have always deserved. You might just find a kind of love that changes you too. 🐶🐱

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃.

This is not just an assumption, it is a reasonable conclusion.

In a time meant to solemnly honor the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, an innocent animal was subjected to fear, pain, and ultimately, likely death. Where is the bird now? Gone, like the balloons that burst midair and fell without care. The poor creature.

Imagine being that bird, restrained, surrounded by sudden loud explosions as balloons pop one by one, unable to escape and set itself free. That is not symbolism. That is suffering and torture.

While we appreciate the recognition and acknowledgement of the incident as “regrettable” and the Bishop’s objection to the practice as well as the committed discontinuance thereof, his eminence’s mention that the “dove will be released immediately after the unveiling”, reflects the continued intention to use doves in the celebrations. In the same form and manner?

We express our highest respect and to our dear Bishop BUT NO, BISHOP PLEASE. THAT IS NOT THE POINT. Animal welfare concerns are real and urgent. Releasing the animal after the event does not undo the possible distress, mishandling, nor the possible cruelty it endured prior. The issue is not what happens after, it is that the animal should never have been placed in harm’s way to begin with.

Ending the use of live animals in harmful religious practices is not a rejection of tradition. It is a call to refine it so it truly reflects the compassion, dignity, and respect for life that these traditions are meant to uphold.

Miming, the cat rescued near 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟰, has already been brought to the vet. Unfortunately, she is currently suffering from 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲, with 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝘀 and difficulty in 𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. She will require 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 moving forward.

Despite everything, Miming remains 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, which makes this situation even more heartbreaking.

A stray dog was reportedly hit by a jeepney near 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟯, 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 earlier today. The incident was witnessed, and the dog has already been 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 after being reported. However, there are concerns that the driver may have been aware of the incident but 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽.

This is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 — we understand how difficult things are for many people today. However, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, and situations like this deserve 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.

The injured cat found near Gate 4, Bicol University has already been rescued by a kind student, but they are currently in need of financial support for the cat’s treatment and care. The cat is still in critical condition, with possible paralysis in the lower body due to injury, and will require veterinary attention, medication, and continuous care.

We are humbly asking for any amount to help cover the expenses. Any small donation will go a long way in saving this cat’s life.

A cat was found near Bicol University Gate 4 in need of urgent assistance. Based on initial observation, the cat appears to be paralyzed in the lower body and unable to move, possibly due to a fracture or serious injury.
